As amazing as it would be to get Pulock, I highly doubt they move him even for a significant deal like this one.

This deal really sucks for NYI.
What is good about it?

Brodie waiving his NTC for the Island? Not likely.

Yeah, likely. Lou is so bad as a GM though, he'll believe his team just needs a couple more old guys to turn the corner.

It's not a full no move, he would have a list of teams already given to the team, I bet the Islanders wouldn't be on his 10 team list. They have been a playoff team for several years running now. Definitely 10 worse teams.

If they don't make a big swing like this, the Leafs are wasting this season. Moving a 1st plus for Tanev is not going to be enough.

Leafs won’t move the first for Tanev just isn’t gonna happen we likely don’t spend a 1st at this deadline but we can’t afford him this year either so just wait till the offseason we might have to mail in this year and try again next year

They get a highly touted prospect in Niemela (look at the list of players to be named the top defenceman at the world Juniors and tell me he isn't someone to be excited about). A 1st and a 3rd. They need to get younger. The Islanders are one of the oldest teams in the league.

Then they aren't improving their defence this season. Next year is very hard to navigate because they are paying Matthews and Nylander big raises and FA's always cost more than they should. Next year is the hardest year for the cap, next year may be a punt year and then the year after they will have serious money to improve the team.

They have lots of room next year and even more the year after they’ll be fine I’d still like for them to acquire tanev but they won’t be using a first to do it probably niemela a 3rd and some extra prospects to make them deal with Brad

It's going to cost a 1st plus for Tanev retained. No chance he goes for less

Pullock is 29 and the Islanders are staring down a rebuild in the near future. Being one of the oldest teams in the league and trending down isn't going to go well

Lou isn't rebuilding..Pullock is a core guy. Not moving him for a bottom half 1st rounder and just some throw ins. If we wanted to deal him (oh and besides he has a full NTC), we can get more.

Niemela is hardly a throw in. Go look at the list of players to be named top defenceman at the world Juniors and tell me he's not going to be a good NHLer.

Then keep him. Isles wouldn't do this
