Not sure the last place team in the Atlantic should be trading first rounders. Especially after losing one in the Dadonov debacle

Disagree. For Brett Pesce with extension you absolutely do it. That pick will be late anyways it’s gonna be the bruins 1st

Imo I feel like whoever trades the younger player always regrets it. That’s like moving Mercer for Weegar or something. I feel like Pinto can be a prime Jordan Staal

1. Pinto can be signed for league minimum.

2. Canes are not selling off Pesce unless it's for an upgrade.

3. Hawks don't want Kubalik

No one is trading an upgrade for a rental Pesce .

Can't imagine the Hawks would want Kubalik again, but they probably consider this. That extra $1m in cap space the Sens get might cost something extra.

I agree the Hawks don’t want Kubalik however, if time is ticking away at the deadline and they don’t have a better offer on the table for Dickinson I could see this as a viable fall back option. Would definitely make more sense without the retention.

Why do the Canes trade Pesce when they are doing everything they possibly can to stop goals right now.

I wouldn't mind taking on Kubalik, honestly. I don't want him, exactly, but seeing a small sample size of Bedard playing with a shooter like him could be interesting.

This is terrible asset management especially for a team that is last place in the division. Rarely do team who are below 500 by American thanksgiving make the playoffs especially with how stacked the Atlantic is.
