Lindholm and Monahan are also available.

And I don't see LA trade Danault.

That's really not an overpayment though

Oh god no. It's a late 1st, a 4th, and essentially 2 cap dumps.

Kings decline.
Why would LA make a trade since they're doing well this season.

Tatar only makes 1.5. Johansen makes 4 million. I could see it as a somewhat csp dump but it's more of his performance.

Danault would def help fill the 2c void.

I also think it's worth noting that Danault has term and on a nice deal. At the end of the day Lindholm is still a pending UFA and the only thing changing that is if he is willing to sign a deal with a new team. Even then that only effects the value if other teams want to add him

You are missing my point. The contracts may not be negative value but they aren't positive, especially in the sense of a Lindholm trade as the other user mentioned. They server no purpose to Calgary at all

Want a Ryan Strome? Was 2C for years in NYC and is good for 50-60 points per season. Right handed center and familiar with the AVS system to boot.

Rob Blake won't be trading the best free-agent signing he's ever made, and perhaps likely ever to make unless he lands William Nylander for the right price.

I’d love Danault and he would be a good fit at 2C but LAK would only make a trade that makes them better this year and that doesn’t do it.

Aside from the obvious untouchables (Makar, Rantanen, MacKinnon), the only thing Colorado has that I'd consider trading Danault for is Devon Toews, but I don't know why either team would do that.

I'd love that for the Avs but there would have to be a significant piece in there to make the Kings better now or in the future. Looking at their roster the Kings are dealing from a position of strength at C. One has to assume they will have to accommodate Kopitar, Dubois and Byfield at C eventually (plus others) so does Danault find himself in a similar position to the one he was in with the Habs? He also has to waive for the Avs, so lots to consider. Danault is just the perfect fit for an Avs 2C for me and has history with Drouin, Tatar and Lehkonen as a bonus (I haven't checked exactly how much he played with each of them or how effective they were) so I'd try to keep Tatar for the cup run if I could afford to (probably dependent on when Lehky returns). The cap saving for LA would also allow them to add another piece at the TDL.
