The Habs accept! But only because they're retaining $985k.

Montreal declines all day lol and you do know there’s a 1% chance they complete a trade? I’m not sure how I feel about the other trade either

I and my esteemed fellow Anaheim fans despair of ever making any progress against the headwind presented by Fowler's four-team trade list.

Just out of curiosity, if the two fifths are for San Jose, what did you think that each of the four elements from the Ducks were costing you?

One crack head columnist for the Leafs wrote a trade article where he proposed a bottom feeder team retain multiple seasons of big money for a player sent to the Leafs, and now half of the Leafs fans on here are running with the idea that they can get top 6/4 players for multiple seasons and 4th line/bottom pair pricing.

It's like asking your dealer to pay for your rehab.

lol

Pretty sure they decline.

It's a matter of opinion though. No need to freak out (this site is now just dialogues between people freaking out)

I believe that the Habs will re-sign him to be honest.
For the organisation (I'm talking Habs here, it's not the same for every team), he is worth more re-signed than another 3rd round pick (they already have so many picks)

Listen Fran615, the Habs accept this offer and here's why:

It's the Leafs. And we all know that the Habs will do whatever the Leafs need in order to win the Cup. They'll turn down 2nd rounders from other teams, just so the Leafs can have him.

Lmao.

Agreed. Everyone is a Leafs fan; that's a given.
So if a person (aka, a Leafs fan) is also GM of another franchise, especially in the same division, then that Leafs fan (aka Habs GM) needs to be quite content in retaining 50% off of a useful player to get a wildly coveted 3rd round pick. And yes, like you said, other team's 2nd round pick don't help the goal of getting the Cup to EVERYONE'S FAVORITE TEAM
