But if you put Duchene on the right team he can be a very good player.

At least one of Ho Sang, Barzal, Beauvillier and/or Bellows will surpass Duchene in 2 years. If we could just secure our arena situation, JT will stay. If Tavares thinks we're two or three blockbuster trades away from being good, he'd have left already. The hangup here has to be organizational.

If you put any player on the right team they can be a very good player. Duchene has been regressing the last 3 years and I wouldn't give up (at the moment) our top prospect for him to hope this is the right team where he turns it around.

Yes, i guess that's fair, but Duchene has shown us that he knows how to be a first liner, and i think he could be one on the Island.

I'd be all for trading Bellows and/or Beauvillier at the moment for an impactful piece. Love Beau, but I dont think he'll be more than a 40-50 point guy stuck on the 3rd line and Bellows hasn't shown anything special since he went to BU, maybe the switch to the WHL will help but who knows. What I do know is that the Isles would be dumb to move Ho Sang and Barzal

Yeah, they wouldn't want to move Ho-Sang, but if he's the main piece in a Duchene deal they should do it. What do you think they should give up if they get Duchene?

I thought giving up Hamonic/Dal Colle/1st was fine, wouldve replaced Dall Colle for Bellows, Beau or more picks but the fact that Sakic basically wanted Hamonic, Barzal, Pulock and picks means that I hope Garth hung up the phone

wait, so Hamonic, Dal-Colle and a 1st would be fine if they still had Hamonic, but Ho-Sang alone wouldn't?

Dal Colle is almost guaranteed to not pan out at this point for the Isles, he cant even produce in the AHL as a 21 year old, a 1st in a weak draft and Hamonic who if you really think is more important than Ho Sang right now you really shouldnt be watching hockey. The trade was perfectly fine.

Hamonic has already done a lot in the NHL. Ho-Sang and other prospects are not guaranteed to be great players.

Hamonic has been getting worse the last couple years, I'd take Ho Sang in a heartbeat over Hamonic

okay, but either way, Ho-Sang over Hamonic, Dal-Colle, and a 1st? I disagree.

I dont, but I also dont agree with 99% of the things you post about the Islanders on here so we just have different opinions.

Bellows???? 14 points in 34 NCAA games Bellows? I have my doubt Bellows makes it to the NHL and I am confident saying there is no chance Bellows is half the player Duchene is

Is there a reason you covet our 1st round picks so badly but are fine with moving Ho-Sang who already looks like a good NHL forward.

1st round picks outside the top 10 (i.e. picks 11-30) historically have about a 50-55% chance of even playing 200 total NHL games
