That is such an underwhelming trade package for your franchise leader in points and goals. Stamkos has been the biggest thing to ever happen to the lightning, if they trade him for that little it would be such a waste

Several problems here.
First: Stamkos as recently as September said he Guarantees he'll be here until his contract expires.
Second If they convince him to waive it's costing a lot more he's still producing at a 1.2 ppg pace and has missed 4 regular and post season games since the start of 21/22.
so, this isn't close to securing his services especially with max retention.
Third that's a garbage return for Jeannot after the cost to acquire him. Especially since he's doing exactly as they expect.

If Boston trades futures it will be for a top 6 forward or a top 4 defenseman

They overpaid massively for Jeannot. If they trade him, any return would be garbage in comparison.

I agree with you, it'll be a massive overpay if Stamkos goes anywhere.
It's hard to believe he's just 33 and already a 500g scorer. I feel very old.

If I told you in 2013 he'd get 500 assists before 500 goals How high would you have said I was.
Jeannot is doing exactly what they want him to do,why would they trade for a massively underwhelming return?

No chance Winnipeg looks at that. Stamkos wouldn't waive and no one is paying that much for a rental.

Stanley can't play 2nd pairing. He won't be able to play 2nd pairing next year either. Please don't saddle your team with Stanley as any role more than 3rd LD. Also the Jets are high on Vilardi and need him if KFC is out long-term.

I can see the return for Stamkos being something around Top6 FWD + Top4 D / Top6 FWD + 1st round pick. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like he wants to go anywhere.

I feel like most 500g scorers get the apples before the goals. Maybe I'm wrong?

I don't think they should trade Jeannot. Or rebuild for that matter. The East is weaker this year imo than last year.
