Domi wouldn't crack the Hurricanes lineup... that's a waste of a third to spend on a player that's going to spend a lot of time in the press box. The only person he might start over Drury but that's unlikely considering that Dury is very good defensively (which our Selke-winning coach values a whole lot) and he's on a heater rn.

Lol give me a break. Domi was playing 2C in the conference finals last year and was doing just fine.

Domi is awful in his own-zone, unlike literally every other Hurricanes skater... Rod doesn't play guys who are a liability in their own zone and Domi is just that. Sure he's better than a few of them but Rod just wouldn't play him.

Dallas and the Hurricanes require two way different things from centers... Domi was a 4C during his time in Carolina and our current 4C has had a better year analytically than Domi

You didn't but this shows that Drury has had a better analytical year all around than Domi

That's not at all what they show.

Game Score is about how you impact your teams chances of winning a particular game. If Reaves sits on the bench for 59m50s then steps on the ice and receives a breakaway pass in a tied game and scores he will have a crazy high game score because he drastically changed his teams chances of winning.

It's a complete BS stat. If Domi assists a goal when the leafs are up 5-1 that barely helps his offensive rating. If Drury breakups a pass in the defensive zone with Carolina down 3-1 GameScore loves it cause that pass could have put the game out of reach.

If you are using GameScore in your argument you either don't understand analytics or are desperately trying to find one stat that proves your point.

Here is an example of how absurd GameScore is when compared to real analytics which measure an individual players ability while accounting for things like the quality of opposition, quality of teammates. These analytics judge players in a vacuum so they stay the same when they change teams or roles and don't judge them on circumstances and fail to account for basic things like puck luck.

"If Domi assists a goal when the leafs are up 5-1 that barely helps his offensive rating"... yes because isn't impacting the game really but blocking a shot at 2-1 is helping your team win a lot more than assisting on a goal in basically garbage time.

If you really want to get into it. Domi is a top 25-30 passer in the league. He's on pace for 40+ assist with Robertson and Jarnkrok as his wingers playing an average of 12mins a night. It's easy to see him as a PPG guy if slotted in properly on the 2nd line

Carolina is struggling to score and he is a MASSIVE upgrade over KK in the top 6.

Sure man use GameScore if you want. There is a reason reputable guys like CJ or Friedman occasionally reference a JFresh card but never a GameScore card. It's a joke.

It's basic **** you learn in grade 2 science glass. You can't just swab your toilet then leave the q tip in the kitchen sink to see if bacteria grows, you need to put it in the Petry dish and remove external criteria.

I'm not saying either is perfect but if you are never on the ice in key moments your GameScore will suck, if your team scores in the first minute and is leading all game and you are an offensive player then your score will suck.

If there was a team that won every game 10-0 and their first line scored their first shift each game then the 2-4th lines would all have bad GameScore cause they didn't effect the outcome. It's just a Mickey mouse stst for fans that don't understand hockey.

"Carolina is struggling to score and he is a MASSIVE upgrade over KK in the top 6."... That's a bit of a stretch... KK has emerged into a legit 2C and overall about equal on par to Domi in terms of impact when you consider defense. The Hurricanes aren't struggling to score (9th in goals for a 5v5)... they've been having goaltending problems and have the worst sv % in the leauge (last I checked)
