There's nothing logical about the Detroit trade. At least from the Red Wings POV.

Honestly it was just randomly thrown in by me. Could rework it but I was trying to get the Minny roster down enough

Why? he could go to a contender and retire. The wild are not doing anything this year for him

Said he wasn't moving his family again and that he'd evaluate things in the off-season.

Would imagine he'd only waive for Pittsburgh or MTL at this point.

I highly doubt Pittsburg brings him back and Montreal would be cool but they seem semi-set on goalies as well

Given Kaprizov has 2 season after this that probably an underpay for him, but I don't think MTL does it simply because if the development of their young players stalls Kaprizov doesn't make them a contender. It's a more than fair deal in my eyes, but about 2-3 seasons too early for MTL to be making that kind of move.

      *Pittsburgh

I'm not saying either of those teams would trade for him, I just said that most likely who he would waive for.

Canes and Flower pass. Flower said he isn’t going to move his family anymore. I don’t think the Canes would have that much interest the prospects either. Lambos might draw some interest, but I don’t think he ends up beating out either of Slavin or Nikishin in the future for a top 4 LD role. As for Ohgren, the Canes don’t need LW right now. As is stands, they already have 3 top 6 options for LW at the NHL level, and 4-5 quality LW prospects in the pipeline.

I think the Canes will probably also have their questions about Zucc’s sustainability away from Kaprizov. For the offense that Necas provides, at such a cheap cap hit, an offer will have to blow them away for them to consider trading Necas, particularly mid season.

That Kaprizov deal would be disappointing as a habs fan because he will be a UFA in 2 years and the team isn't ready, but also they could have just drafted Michkov.

Honestly if you took out Soderblom it would be reasonable. Just no reason to take on Dvorak.
