Pens trade would have a lot of if's.

IF the pens are sellers at the deadline is the first. Second would be If they trade Guentzel and Pettersson those would be their two most likely retention candidates and they only have 2 open spots.

So you'd either take smith 100% or find a 3rd team.

Yeah so it was talked about by Friedman on 32 thoughts. Even for a rental I think it makes a load of sense and I personally would be hyped. If landy is done they’ve got a great replacement as well.

This just doesn't fit positionally for the canes. If KK were to be moved (which I already think is unlikely), it would be to upgrade at 2C, not add another LHD of which there are a surplus in Raleigh.

Canes can’t trade a center for a defender…

Now, if you wanted to talk about a Necas trade, the Canes would listen. Would like need to be futures from Avs to use in a different trade for an area of need most likely.
