I feel like Boston won't trade Lysell unless they're getting a longer term asset. And I'm guessing they're more-so looking for Centers than wingers

Lol good joke - Lysell is only available if Boston is getting Hertl or Lindholm in return. An fringe NHL player and rental Duclair are of no interest to Boston

No reason for Boston to make this deal. Substitute Brett Harrison and I think they consider it

Would love a Hertl - Pasta Czech combo. SJ desperately needs RW prospects too, wish a trade like that could be worked out.

Nah. Bs pass.

3rd and mid prospect for Duclair is about max for us. 2nd if you catch us in the right day and retain 50%. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Zacha - Hertl - Pasta would be such a great line, but I don't think its going to happen.

I was surprised that the Sharks re-signed Hertl... it didn't make sense at the time with the direction of the team. It was in the interest of both parties to start fresh: Hertl goes to a competitive team for assets and Sharks to start the rebuild. He signed that contract and IMO Sharks are probably three years away from being a competitive team - right at the time Hertl is leaving his prime.

His contract isn't terrible, but I am not sure any team is going to give the Sharks an offer that blows them away on Hertl. I hope he doesn't end up like Couture/Vlasic where he is just sitting on the books waiting for his contract to expire in his mid to late 30s.

It was moronic that DW didn't deal him at the deadline and extended him instead. But yes, agreed with the timeline. I'd rather have him on a competitive team that needs C help for the next few years (COL, BOS, etc.). It should age ok and be manageable for teams with the increase in cap, but definitely a risk with the last 2-3 years of the deal.

Sharks could have gotten a haul for a 28-year old top 6 Center on an expiring $5.6M AAV contract... what do you think his price is now?

Sharks probably just keep him since they need some vets around to mentor the youngsters. It’d probably take a first + a good prospect + whatever roster players to make the money work.

Bruins pay MAYBE a 3rd for Duclair 50% retention, anymore isnt worth

Hertl wouldve been a much better target for BOS, too bad SJ extended him, doesnt look like thats possible now

Zacha-Hertl-Pasta woulda been so fun
