First of all, the Islanders are not trading Barzal

Second of all, the Islanders are not trading with the Rangers

Third of all, 26 year old 1C Barzal is not worth an entire first round pick less than 30 year old 1C Zibanejad. Their values are equal if anything.

In summary, not even Lou is senile enough to accept this appallingly insulting offer

You realize this is all theoretical right? Like I'm not going to send a letter to Lou's office encouraging this to happen

Actually disagree that they are equal in value. Zibanejad is better and on a cheaper contract. So the Islanders would have to add. Maybe not a 1st but a good prospect or something

Tbh I don't think so. Zibanejad > Barzal. And he's on a cheaper contract. Like I said to the other guy maybe the difference isn't a 1st, but at least a good prospect or something. I'd take Gauthier back

Barzal is 26, under contract until he is 33.
Zibanejad is 30, under contract until he is 36.

This alone makes Barzal the more valuable asset

Zib & NYR pass, NYI pass cause of the 1st. We'll stick with our rusty machine lol. You've been quiet lately on the Zib bashing for some reason, have you been actually watching our games? You just happen to miss the oozing chemistry & plays??

Barzal hasn't been a point per game+ in 5-6 years. Seems to be doing great this season but not enough history of greatness so far to really warrant a 9m+ salary. So the Rangers would be taking more of a risk than the Islanders (since Zibanejad is on track to be a point per game+ for the third straight year in a row now). Plus, the Islanders are likely to rebuild sooner than the Rangers (not dunking on the Islanders here, they seem to be doing good this season, but they have fallen off since their conference finals runs which is completely natural), so if they aren't competing in 4-5 years it won't matter how old either player is. Plus, Zibanejad is 10x the two-way player Barzal is, plus Zibanejad is a leader in the room and has an A, and finally, Barzal is being used as a winger right now and probably would be a winger on the Rangers as well, which inherently makes him less valuable than Zibanejad who is a centre

Zibanejad has improved lately I can give him that. Great game from him last night. I still don't really trust him in the playoffs though

Maybe they aren't "worth" that but any team is going to have to overpay if they want Kakko. Otherwise the Rangers simply wouldn't trade him

It's a fact not an excuse. They're not going to sell Kakko now at his lowest value with 3 points in like 20 games and hurt. So if anyone wants him this year, they'll have to overpay. Watch and you'll see that I'm right. Either the Rangers will re-sign him or he'll be traded for a 1st + full time NHLer. Or an elite prospect.

This guy has posted several trade Mika posts with 50% retention but is trying to tell you how he is also more valuable than Barzal. It's nothing but trolling.

You claim that I'm trolling but never specify how I'm trolling or what I said that constitutes trolling. You are an unserious person

Also Zibanejad has been good lately. I can admit that. I still don't trust him in the playoffs (when it matters), I still think he needs to be far away from Kreider, and I think Barzal would be a great fit on the NYR to fill our RW need. That's not trolling

Trade Mika with 50% retention but he's better than other teams best players. You're just absurd.

I've moved past Mika at 50% retention (if he keeps up the good work). If he disappears in the playoffs again I'll start those proposals up again. Same with Panarin. I wanted Panarin gone all summer but he's "Walked The Walk" so far and now I'm fine with him.

I literally don't understand what's wrong with anything I said. Enlighten me. If players live up to their contracts, perform well, and can help to bring home The Cup, they're fine with me and can stay. If they underperform, ghost, or are a liability on the ice, I'll want them traded. That's just being fair.

It's impossible to enlighten an absurd person. Every single person on this forum that sees your trades thinks the same thing, that they are absurd, Everyone is not wrong.

But you can't deny that I have a point that underperforming players should be jettisoned from the team.
