Since Leafs fans are keen on trading for them

Description
Leafs fans have been trading for these two for a few days now and everytime they are told no their argument is they are "injury prone and washed", well then why trade for them in the first place? Cause they know the fact is those are the types of players they need to make a deep rum and they are just trying to convince everyone that those players hold no value so that they can acquire them for cheap.

Well, here is the actual price it would require, don't like it, stop trading for them

Savard is a top 4 dmen on any team.

If he was, he wouldn't have signed in Montreal. An aging vet doesn't sign for term with a bottom feeder if he's worth playing top 4 on a contender. Savard is done. He's a bottom pair vet precense at best.

For Liljegren maybe

Savard is a lock for the top 4 like Matheson & Guhle. The rest will fight for the remaining spots. The others will be sent in Laval

Only Matheson Savard & Guhle are top 4 dman. The others are bottom pairing dman, you don’t trade a top 4 dman to make room for another #6. Guys can play in Laval (Hutson, Reinbacher, Mailloux, Struble, etc.)

Yes on a contender he would be a bottom pairing dman, but on a lot of teams he would he playing top 4 minutes. In MTL he is playing top pairing minutes so he is very valuable for us.

Than he's all yours because Savard doesn't help TO. He would be either a 3rd pair PK guy we don't really need or he'd be playing more than he should. The leafs don't need more bottom pair guys they have many players capable of that. They need a top pair guy.

Pretty sure Savard signed the year after the Habs went to the cup finals, meaning he bought into the idea that the Habs under MB were a playoff team and just proved their capabilities that year.

No hate, just non objective analysis. Savard hasn't been very good for several years. His time as a top 4 player is long past. Which is why he's in Montreal and not on a contender.

Sorry but that's the price to acquire Monahan and Savard (I forgot to add the retention on Savard).

Monahan will cost Minton + the 3rd
Savard gets the late 1st + Villneuve (I agree it would be more along the lines of a 2nd + a better prospect but the Leafs don't have a 2nd so downgrading the prospect and upgrading the pick was the only reasonable choice, I mean you wouldn't want me to have gone Cowan or Knies + a 3rd-5th instead would you?)

Mailloux has already been cleared to play but is still at least 2 years out, Reinbacher is doing well in Europe but he will still go to Laval next season, Xhekaj is a LD so no idea why he would be in the mix here, and Kovacevic is most likely the odd man out at 26 and on a really team friendly deal he will be easy to move.

Excellent 👏

Wow, I guess I made such an impression on you that you have nothing better to do than to stalk around making trolling remarks on every one of my posts. It's good to be an influencer but you really do need to get over it lol

No, he has been going back through every post I made today making snide comments like this. I believe it is because his alt account is MitchJr and that account had been trolling me previously as well

I don't understand why people are down on Barron. He may not end up a true top pairing guy, but he's progressing well and increasing in responsibility at a young age with relatively little experience.
Many teams only end up with one true top pairing defender (if that). It's not unusual to have a #1 guy and a complementary partner rather than an actual #2. Barron could very well be the right partner for Guhle given time and development.
Barron only really needs two major things, success on a functional power play and awareness to protect himself when playing the puck. He just hit the 20 minute mark for average ice time and he's holding ground in goal differential (+3) outside of penalty killing (not his strength, but we were missing Savard). He's only 22 with 76 games under his belt. The smaller things are gradually improving naturally.
Montreal fans need to be patient with this rebuild and not push for more before it makes sense to do so. Let the team develop.
Other teams' fans need to realize Barron isn't trade bait. IF he is eventually moved, it will be because he's lost all value years from now and you can get him for cheap.

The only thing fans should be concerned about with regards to Barron are the 2 big "flaws". The PP issue isn't one he can do himself. It will be up to him to provide value there once the coaching staff figures it out. In the meantime he's on track and only needs to work on his spider sense to avoid dangerous hits.

I agree with his 2 flaws but he has more flaws than that
He is bad on puck retrieval and break out
He is probably our worse dman defensively with Matheson right now
But like you said he is developing and there’s no rush to trade him because he isn’t a top 4 dman at his age
