This assumes PIT does not trade Guentzel and tries to squeak into the playoffs.

Carter’s there because he’ll only go to a solid team with a chance at a run and LA is the former connection and Pens would happily retain half to get a 6th. Wouldn’t be surprised if he stayed of course.

They’re a better team without him.

Sorry, No, @VanCity2196 is right, there's no chance that Los Angeles would want to add a forward to the 13 we have on the roster now plus Viktor Arvidsson when he comes off the LTIR list. We wouldn't take Carter if he were on waivers. We wouldn't even take Carter if he came with a middling draft pick.

Ottawa doesn't need more LD. They're already full up and are playing people on their off hand just to get them in the lineup.
