I think the deadline will be fairly quiet this year. Maybe a cap dump, a 3rd party retention, and possibly trading off Dickenson and Mrazek. I'm not even sure KD does that if the return isnt great, because this team is bad enough as it is. Taking away more talent for low range picks wouldnt be worth it.

This is why I cut off the draft pick value at a 4th.

Hasn't Kurashev been Bedard's most consistent linemate? He's still young, why move him even for a 1st?
Not saying you would trade him but, I think he should be in the unavailable category or a category to trade him for a similar aged player you think could fit with Bedard long term

It would have to be an overpay for KD to trade him at this point. I like Kurashev. He hasn't quite acclimated to the NHL as fast as I would have hoped. He IS Bedard's most consistent linemate, BUT I'm not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing to be honest. It already feels like Bedard is the one helping Kurashev develop into an NHLer and not the other way around. The 18 year old helping the 24 year old turn into an NHLer? Kurasvhev and the Hawks couldn't come to an agreement on contract in the offseason, I'm not advocating for a trade, but maybe it's a smart move to sell at this point?

I thought he was 22 not 24, that does change things but, at least they are doing something together. I'm fairly confident that Richardson has asked Bedard what he thinks about the linemates he's had this year and if he's still with Kurashev I imagine he either likes him or dislikes him the least (not saying Bedard is controlling his linemates just that it would make sense to ask your franchise player what he thinks and going with that to an extent) and too me that's enough to keep him.
Bedard will always make it look like he is carrying the players on his line, he's too good, Hawks fans probably have perpetual hard ons everytime he plays lol
Contracts are tough and hard to judge, he's having what looks like a career year but, hopefully he isn't and idiot and acknowledges Bedard is the biggest reason for it

Especially when the proposed trades have retention. At some point it's not even worth it.
