What do we get back

Description
Insiders saying that Pettersson has told his agent he wants to move to Chicago. What can the Canucks get in return I he forces his way out this summer.

Spitting Chicklets covered this while talking with Insiders, I've also heard this from other sources and mentioned it a couple months ago. Nylander also wants to go.

I don't think this is horrible for Vancouver if they can pull it off. Gives them a top 3 D core in the league

Pettersson won't be traded, Vancouver will give him a huge contract. Vancouver won't be signing any of those free agents either except possibly Tanev if they trade for him before the deadline this year. For that matter Tanev is the only one of the three they'll be able to afford.

      Nice try.
Pettersson and Kuzmenko aren’t going anywhere.
Kuzmenko deserves another chance and he didn’t ask for a trade.
Pettersson trade rumour to Chicago is completely fake and he wants to stay in Vancouver.
It’s going to be hard to acquire Tanev on trade deadline.

If they end up moving Kuzmenko/Garland I do think there’s a chance they could go after Reinhart, but I don’t think it’s likely. Agree that Hanifin won’t sign here and that Tanev could

If Pettersson were to be traded (very small chance) the only pieces Chicago could offer that wouldn’t get beat by another team is Bedard (obviously not happening) or their unprotected 2024 1st+

I had to check if the rumor was fake, seems somewhat legit. If Pettersson is adamant about leaving he'll get more than what Dubois got so probably Reichel, Korchinski and 2024 1st Chicago probably gets to keep Kurashev, Jones would be if Van wants him

Reinhart is unlikely, why leave the team he's having his best years with and went to the cup final? If Pettersson stayed maybe, without him, He'd have to want to go home more than he would want to win.

If Hanafin doesn't stay in Calgary, I'm 99% certain he'll sign in the US

I will be happy when this rumor gets replaced by a new one & slips away to the abyss. So many haters waiting to spew their righteous indignation.
Some random was trying to get attention for his Podcast. Hey there are lots of Podcasts out there right now & times are tuff. Relax.

As a CHI fan, this would be pretty bad for VAN. A few things that would have to go very right soften the blow for them. Jones would have to immediately show he is a top 1RD in the league on a good team, Kurashev would have to continue this level of play (without Bedard), and Reichel would have to improve immensely and hit his potential. Depending on how good Reichel becomes, it could look like a big win for them in hindsight, but, right now, at face value, Pettersson is a superstar with a ton of value and they are a very good team right now that would likely be set back a couple years by a move like this.

But, IF he is actually forcing his way to CHI, there isn't a whole lot VAN can do about it besides either giving him a one year deal and letting it play out, or trying to get something for him right now. I can almost guarantee CHI would not make any attempt at acquiring or signing him until summer 2024 at the earliest.

That all being said, this is just 'Spittin Chiclets' stirring the pot. I doubt there is any validity to this.

Oh FFS. Get a grip. Its media hype designed to sell space. Why would he want to go to a losing team. Makes ZERO sense when he said winning was important to him. This is all designed for effect to help Canucks brass bring their best offer. Trust me, he signs in Vancouver.

If he did get traded (he wont) the return the Canucks would want would be hefty. Think Bedard +

I suggest you may wish to filter some of these thoughts and ideas before posting. It makes you seem either very naive or uninformed. I will try and avoid your posts moving forward.

No doubt the Nucks would want Bedard plus, the reality is they wouldn’t get close to that. Bedard is not available, period. Also Pettersson doesn’t fetch a generational talent player.
