Canucks have Podkolzin, Lekkerimaki, Bains all waiting in the wings. They aren't gonna spend big money on a winger unless it's like Nylander

True but you know GMJR loves his former penguins, especially young guys like Poulin and POJ.

Sure but he doesn't go out of his way to bring in Pens. DeSmith, Cole, Bleuger, and Lafferty were all brought in for basically nothing

We can't afford Nylander. We could def make a run at Guentzel though. And not to mention Guentzel is literally like 96% for goals by wingers over the last however many yrs. So while agree wingers aren't really a great target for any team and especially the Canucks, Guentzel is one of the wingers that'd be worth targeting. Proven high end goal scorer, prove playoff performer.

I don't see us giving up Hoglander, Soucy and picks for a guy who could be had for nothing in a few months though.

And still he can be had for nothing in a few months. The canucks are so up against it that I wouldn't wanna trade picks and young players for an expensive winger at the latter half of their prime.

Canucks decline.
Canucks can’t afford Guentzel.
If a team that’s contending for a Stanley Cup they should be getting Guentzel.
Vancouver has no interest on Guentzel.

Don't act like Jake isn't an elite forward. Look at his career numbers and Nylander and Jake will have a better PPG ratio. Canucks also couldn't afford to pay either of them LOL.

You have this odd lack of nuance. Like obviously the Canucks would have interest in Guentzel. Every top team would. Not to mention the Alvin and Rutherford connections.

Yeah but still I don’t see Vancouver getting him. If a team that’s contending for a Stanley Cup, then they should get a guy like Guentzel.

Are you not trying to win the cup this year? Best team in the league and would go a long way to extending Pettersson for the long term showing him this team is better than how Benning left it.

The Canucks have one of the best records in the league. I saw a model the other day that has them as the third fav to win the cup this yr.
