Description
Alright, I am not saying that this is what the oilers will do come the trade deadline but I do like these pieces for the team. Now players and picks they actually trade I have no clue, I'm terrible with this stuff. I post this to get a discussion on what others think it will cost to get these players in particular.

Campbell likely costs more than a 1st to dump alone. At best you're looking at Broberg, Savoie, and Janmark for Boone 50% retained for 2.5 years which is just not a trade any team would consider accepting. Especially not one who already has the depth that the Jackets have at LD and LW.

Sharks accept.

Sharks would also take a simllar deal to what you are offerring CBL. We'd send Duclair instead ol Jenner. No retention on Duclair, no 4th rounder to Edmonton.

Is that just because he's the captain? I have a hard time thinking CBJ isn't listening to offers for everyone. If you said they wouldn't take the deal I put out that's fine, I just don't see how he could be an untouchable. But I also don't follow them whatsoever

Okay that's fair enough, do you think if it was two firsts in that deal they would consider? I don't follow CBJ so I'm not sure exactly what their strengths and weaknesses are, but I did hear that maybe they'll be looking at moving Provorov at the deadline potentially opening up a spot on LD. I guess it all depends also where CBJ sees themselves in their rebuild. If Jenner really is not available unless its a massive move then probably not worth it.

I do like Duclair and think he'd be a great get for them, but with the strapped cap situation and other needs like a goalie and 3C as well as maybe another dman I don't think he's on their radar.

It's hard to say. I think it's starting to make sense to trade Boone since his value should be pretty darn high to a team that's looking for a cheap middle 6 addition that can play hard minutes in the playoffs. I think what they'd prefer to get in return for him if he is available is a player who is in the 20-24 age range that they have contract control with and would fit in well with the guys who look like the future of the team (Fantilli, Jiricek, KJ, Sillinger, Mateychuk, etc.). Knies would be the player I'd want the Jackets to target on the Leafs, but even at 50% retained on Jenner and with something else added in I really doubt Toronto would go for that.

As for Provorov, he should certainly be on the block either this TDL or next, but even without him the Jackets have so many LD futures lined up. Beyond Werenski they've got Bean, Mateychuk, Svozil, Richard, Christiansen, Berni, Knazko, Bjorgvik Holm, Strathmann, Makarov, and Hreschuk in the system. Adding another young name to that list isn't likely to help them much. I'd say one more young player with legitimate top 6 potential is probably their biggest need right now especially since things with Laine have taken such a huge step back this year from what they were hoping he'd be going forward.
