Simply noting future cap is tight to fellow dream casters lol. If people would make our future team, with lack of cap & depth, we wouldn't be offering up young cheap core for a 6m flaky C cause he can do the Michigan. He's no final piece to the puzzle, especially if we have to shed more parts next year to fit him in.
Schneider will be a 4d max, I know. But we'd be desperate to find another like him, like every team calling.
Sure, I'm guilty of not offering A prospects cause we'll need cheap fillers but I usually overpay.
Gorton loved flaky euros and did more bad than good
If we trade Schneider you mean to tell me we couldn’t find another defenseman in the next 3 years when we need him/someone in the top 4? Cmon man. I see this allll the time and it’s stupid. He’s a chip, that in reality, is replaceable fairly easily with about 15 guys every off season. He’s a 5th D, recently played 13 minutes in a game because he sucked. Hes the someone we should use to get a bonafide forward or two, AND get his replacement for this season. If he was a 4D now, yea id agree with you. He ain’t supplanting Fox or Trouba for 3 seasons, minimum. Hes not Cale Makar, he’s not even Dougie Hamilton. His ceiling is Ryan McDonagh imo. And that is a very nice player, but not something I couldn’t ever trade for a much more pressing need right now.
Zegras won’t happen, but it’s stuff like what you said that makes me laugh. Him Panarin and Laf could all hit, depending on PP1 time, 80/90/100 pts with playing each other, use your head while I shake mine 🤦
If they buyout goodrow, and the cap lift, that’s roughly 8 million dollars to play with. They can afford Zegras. But if Chytil is fine and healthy they won’t make this trade anyway. Anything I do is contingent on Chytil, be able to play or not.
