There’s been talk that if the Pens are not in at least a wildcard spot by the trade deadline, that they’d do the right thing for Crosby and move him to a contender if that’s what he wants.
Connor is one of the top goal scorers in the NHL with 3 years left on a good value contract plus Kupari was a 1st round pick plus the Jets’ 1st round pick in the next draft is more than fair if they’re looking to get Crosby another Cup AND restock without entering rebuild territory.
Blues decline. Schmidt doesn't fit our timeline. The 2nd isn't appealing and we have so many forward prospects. If we trade buch we would be targeting a defensive prospect who has top 4 upside.
Chibrikov is a 20 year old AHL rookie producing at just below a point per game pace in the AHL. The 2nd round pick is from Montreal, so it’s going to be within the top 40 selections and Schmidt has been playing great over the past 20 games or so and is only included to make the money work. Plus, his contract is up after next season, so there’s no long term commitment on the Blues’ part.
St. Louis is obviously a ways behind the Jets, Stars and Avalanche, so why not do a minor reset to inject some more young talent since Buchnevich won’t fit your team’s time line for contending again anyway?

There’s literally been ZERO and I mean ZERO talk about any possibility of moving Crosby. Crosby is a penguin for life and they are going to do everything possible to make the team as good as possible and have a chance for cups as long as Crosby is playing. It’s why they re-signed Malkin, Letang, and traded for Karlsson. And I’m sure they will also extend Guentzel.

No, there hasn't been. One Peg podcaster floated a rumor because he is an idiot and now we have a bunch of these nonsense AGMs
How can anyone convince themselves that Buch offer is good enough? I'm genuinely baffled. And the Blues don't trade good players to rivals without a wild overpay. Which means they almost never do.
