As the title says, Kane is a pure rental for Edmonton. If the Wings appear to be middling at best again at the deadline, Kane agrees to move for a shot at a playoff run and another Cup, but everyone knows he'll go back to Detroit again for the following year(s). Is a 1st round pick intended to be 32nd overall but could end up as high as 16-20 ish too much or not enough for a pure rental meant to help bring a championship home? If the Oilers do win the Cup, the trade would be an obvious win in my books for them. Oilers top line remains intact:

Nuge - McDavid - Hyman
E. Kane/Foegele - Draisaitl - P. Kane
Foegele/E. Kane - McLeod - Ryan
Janmark - Hamblin - Brown

Also, somehow the Oilers overcome this annoying $61,000 cap deficit lol. Someone else I missed to send down perhaps.

EDIT: looks like I forgot the 1st round pick part, my bad. Trade is 2024 1st round pick (EDM) for Kane.

If I knew Kane would sign with Detroit again sure. I'm hoping we just extend him.

P.kane may have an agreement with redwings GM to send him to a team for the playoff if they're not in position to do it themselves. This could give some asset to Detroit and satisfy the player who would be more then interested to resign after that to an other one or two years deal with the team.
