Let's phrase it this way... What about Anaheim's offseason changes to their roster, or the additions to any other Pacific team's roster, makes you think at least 3 teams will surpass Anaheim who finished first in the division last year?

Anaheim did lose Stoner and Theodore, yes, but still have Fowler, Lindholm, Vatanen, Montour, Manson, and Bieksa... Still one of the best defensive rosters in the league. They lost no forwards (that I'm aware of, at least not any big name forwards) and signed a quality backup goalie in Miller.

Calgary did add Hamonic and Smith, and could make a push, but I still see them under Anaheim.

San Jose lost Marleau and Schlemko and did nothing to replace them. How are they going to improve?

LA added Cammy... As if they needed another aging scorer past his prime. But that's about it.

I guess the argument you're making is that they are a physical, tough team to play against? Admittedly that style is being abandoned, but isn't necessarily a negative and can give a lot of teams fits (hello Edmonton).

You have to persuade an panel of judges to your side. The judges would be impartial and will vote per who convinced them

... I just did... And laid out the top 4 teams (besides Edmonton) in that divison... Provide a counter argument that 2 other teams (besides Edmonton) are better than Anaheim.

i really don't see a point in doing this ... we might both just disagree ... there is no winner of a discussion.
