Personally think this is a fair deal for both sides.
Ducks get back a starting goalie to run with Dosalt plus a 1st and prospect all while gaining some cap space? They'd take it.
In a vacuum, assuming all things posted above are allowed, values probably not off significantly.
Vukojevic would need to be exchanged for a different prospect at a position of need.
The 24 1st may be owned by San Jose if NJD makes the ECF, meaning you can't trade it without contingencies, and Anaheim wouldn't accept a conditional 24 1st because if you do what you are acquiring Gibson to do, which is go deep in the playoffs, then we get penalized. So the basis would need to be the 25 1st and a fair bit better of a prospect. There's also a general air of desperation for goalies in the league right now with many teams hungry to upgrade at the position to keep their seasons alive. Oilers are on a charge right now, but if they falter prior to the TDL (which they likely will) they will be back in the market. High demand also raises prices.
Next, Vanacek is pretty clearly not a starting goalie. Maybe it's being under the scrutiny of attention that he falters (usually great regular seasons, always fell apart in the post season at the NHL level) at best he is a tandem, but right now, he's unusable.
Lastly, there's the issue of NJs cap crunch. I could see Anaheim retaining 900k, maybe at most 1.4, but that will increase prices.
