the entire point of the leafs bringing in a guy like tanev is to help reduce the load on Brodie and the others, not replace them.

Lindholm extended is too expensive for the Avs; if they were to acquire him, it would be as a rental which is why I think the Avs won't do it

Avs can't afford to extend Lindholm and likely wouldn't part with both Behrens and Gulyayev in the same deal. Better to replace one of those with a first. Then you might have a rental deal.

All signs point at Hanifin going home to Boston this summer, Zero chance do i see him signing long term with the Devils.

And Elias Lindholm is seeking 8 x $9,000,000, And with reportedly Gabriel Landeskog coming back. Colorado won't be able to afford Lindholm long term.

And Detroit passes as well.

good point, I made this mock trade based off others ive seen, in this situation i used tj as a cap dump. all together if i had to reverse that I would take out him and nick, swap it for a first and then with a 1 million dollar cheaper goalie I would just take that as a win, theyre still over the cap though but im sure theyre making more deals to fix that

I've seen so many people say this for multiple weeks now, and also add that he'd take a hometown discount. What is the source? I remain very skeptical that this is so locked in until I hear that pen has hit paper.

Friedman, LeBrun and Dreger all have mentioned it. Plus Bruin insiders are hearing the possibility as well.

By all accounts, Greer was well liked in the Boston locker room and I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Bs jersey again, but I doubt the Bruins would give up any assets to get him back. He is a decent 12th/13th forward, but the Bruins have a surplus of bottom 6 guys already. He is also willing to fight which is a plus, but he doesn't really strike fear into anyone.

Thanks!

I'll listen when Friedman talks. Same with LeBrun and Dreger to a lesser extent. For the Bruins insiders, it really matters who it is. If the source is any of the writers at BOSHockeyNow, then it is worth about as much as used toilet paper until someone more reliable confirms it.

Renaud Lavoie basically he said GMs (multiple) around the league believe Hanifin is an inevitable for Boston. Things change, but cap room, need, and a GM known to love your capabilities plus family in the area (I know be spent COVID time here) all point to Boston signing Hanifan being a strong possibility

Last thing Friedman said on the subject is that Hanifin was close to resigning in Calgary.

Only the delusional Hab fans thought that PLD was going to Montreal.

No, everyone thought that, including Marek and Friedman. Players are going to go wherever suits them best, usually salary or chance to win.

Considering what Bostons already spending on the blueline, I highly doubt they get anywhere close to what he can get elsewhere.
