are you kidding Monahan is worth a 2nd all day long, and a good 2nd choice to Lindy.but i will say if colorado gets Lindy and the jets get Monahan your not getting by colorado, let alone the stars.I think Monahan would resign in wpg,he is finally getting healthy, and a upgrade on namestnikov.

The Jets have 3 centers better than Monahan. All of Scheifele, Lowry and Namestnikov are better and Kupari is equal.

The Jets are one of the best defensive teams in the NHL, so I don't see them going out of their way to overpay with a high 2nd for some depth that is bad at everything other than face offs and PP.

He just doesn't improve the Jets even minutely.

yep agreed, come on WIND JAMMER,its mtl 2nd so its a high 2nd.after 99 percent of the trades on here are absolutely ridiculous.give this BENNY BOY guy some credit, this one makes sense, although it doesnt get the jets the cup, if Lindy goes to the avs.

I dont know what your watching but Monahan is a 50 pt 18 min a night 2nd line center.schiefle is better but namestnikov isnt close.you guys need Lindy to have a chance, but Monahan is a good second choice, and like i said he would resign.

I don't know what you're watching but Monahan is awful at everything other than face offs and PP. He's slow, a bad skater, bad at even strength bad defensively and makes the players around him worse.

All 3 Jet centers I listed are better and Kupari is no worse than equal all around.

You seem to like him so maybe you're favourite team will be stupid enough to overpay for him.

Monahan when healthy has always been a 50 pt 18 min a night 2nd line center and a good one.i watched him for yrs and knew if he got healthy he would get back to himself.he is way better than all the jets centers except schiefle.he is exactly what the jets need, other than Lindy. and who is my favorite team? because i would like to see the jets go far,but there not doing it with namestnikov in the 2nd hole, and thats the only weakness the jets have.so if all i have to do is give up a 2nd pick to complete my team im doing it.

No one cares that he was good 5 or 10 years ago, only now matters.

He simply isn't an improvement over anything Winnipeg has already. He isn't a difference maker and isn't worth risking the chemistry of a team that is playing really well to add an awful defensive player.

Monahan is in a bad spot, he's not good enough offensively to play in the top 6 of a playoff team and isn't his enough defensively to play in the bottom 6 of a playoff team.

Monahan had terrible injuries and is just getting back to what he was.we dont agree,if im the jets i give up a 2nd all day long for a guy who would resign.i watched monahan for yrs and hes a big time character guy.i think hes a perfect fit for the jets.and hes not old, drafted right after lindy.

Did you have seen any game of Montreal last year ? When he was healthy Monahan was taking some pressure out of Suzuki and help him being more dominant. The exact moment Monahan was injured and out Suzuki play and stats crash under the pressure of being the only good center available.

Tell me did you see who's is linemate ? He have bad linemate who not performing or defense well. He's also part of an rebuilding team you can't have high expectations on defense when your rebuilding.

Curiously Monahan is offensive enough when playing along the armia, Anderson or Gallagher but when he get good winger like Caufield, Joshua Roy he's able to produce more.

The reason he's performing better on PP is simple because he's playing with better teammates who able to finish is play not missing the net.

Stats is good and can say alot of thing but there something that will not be in stats is the human factor. Like Guy Boucher like to say : les intangibles que le joueur amène.

Yes, you can make excuses for him. But the fact still remains that Monahan is bad 5 on 5, bad defensively, a poor skater, slow and doesn't fit with Winnipeg.

Could he be a depth pickup for Winnipeg or someone at the TDL? Maybe, but not at the exorbitant asks Montreal fans have, I trust Chevy is smart enough to say no.

a 2nd pick is not a high price to pay for a guy like monahan.but you really owe it to yourself to take the time to watch him.he is a 2nd line center when healthy.he is only 29 yrs old and would resign in wpg.

Montreal's 2nd is basically a 1st. Monahan simply isn't worth that much to Winnipeg as a depth add.

This is what I had as the top offer Winnipeg should make for Monahan....not really sure he is the answer though and think some other team will make a slightly better offer.
