Tyler Myers to the Leafs?
This makes no sense.

Only with Brodie going the other way. Myers would be a better fit beside Rielly come playoff time. Probably better options elsewhere though for sure...

According to a source that I read, Canucks are not willing to trade Myers.
But I think this trade could make sense.
I just wish it could happen on Trade Deadline.

Sens pass without a doubt but leafs have zero need for another LHD so they pass too, leafs pass on Vancouver why are we trading the better and cheaper player lmao, and jarnkrok>Monahan so leafs pass on that one too

Tocchet doesn’t like LHD/LHD pairings and he already has to run one. Can’t see him wanting to run two so for that reason the Canucks probably decline (even though Brodie is the better player and yes I know he plays on the right side)

I think that's fair value for the Sens. Both McCabe and Chych can play both sides, McCabe has even looked better on the right side this year. The Leafs need a legit top pair TWD and the only ones available shoot left. We're also trading a defenseman who shoots left in Brodie for a RHD in Myers, a RHD with a skillset that better compliments Rielly and brings a toolset we're lacking, one that is especially critical come playoff time. An unlikely trade I agree, but there's little to say Brodie has been the better defenseman this year.

Leafs trade for Monahan might be an overpay, but Jarnkrok is definitely not better than him....

Jarnkrok is miles better then him defensively and Monahan gets 75% of his points on the pp jarnkrok gets no pp time so he’s slightly better offensively, totally offside if you think Monahan is better honestly trollish

That is unfortunately not fair value for Chychrun. This is a panic trade for the Sens and the only real thing of value (for the Sens) is the 2024 1st Round Pick.

Everyone of those pieces has value. Robertson is already a top 9 FW on the sens with very legit top 6 potential as a 21 year old. Niemela has been nothing but great throughout his career and projects as a top 4D. AA has legit NHL upside. The sooner the Sens unload Chych the better, or else they'll end up with a situation similar to Debrincat.

Monahan is a former 6th overall pick who was a legit 1C for a long time before getting injured, who seems to have regained his form. He has 6 points in his 7 games, all at even strength. Jarnkrok has 3 points in his last 17, despite the fact he does get PP2. You think Jarnkrok is better offensively because he gets less PP time? What do you think gets you PP time? Have you seen his career playoff production? Monahan is not bad defensively at all and has the capability to play center, adding size and 2 way ability at 3C.

Jarnkrok isn’t waiving lmao they gave him a MNTC for a reason he isn’t going anywhere

They gave him a MNTC instead of a full no move for a reason, yes. Precisely so they'd have the option to trade him down the line. If he blocks a trade to MTL they can flip him to a 3rd team, we're not talking about Sidney Crosby here...

Robertson is a bottom 6 forward. Niemela is a good prospect but not the style of defenseman the Sens need (he's redundant at least for us). Sens are good with Goalie prospects.

If the Sens move Chychrun, I doubt Staios moves Chychrun in the Atlantic division, and very much doubts he moves him to Toronto.

The fact Robertson is a bottom 6 forward already at 21 does not diminish his value, quite the opposite. Disagree that the Sens are "good" with goalie prospects as well. Also, GMs don't care about trading with rivals the way fans do, they're only interested in doing what's best for their team. They literally just traded Debrincat to a divisional rival who everyone thought they'd be competing for a playoff spot with.

Debrincat short-listed Ottawa with teams that he would sign an extension with, limited them essentially to Detroit. Which is why Ottawa got smoked on that trade.

Robertson is skilled and can provide some Offense but doesn't kill penalties and doesn't play physical enough. I don't see him cracking the Sens top 6 at any point soon. That style of player is always readily available.

The Sens hold off and stay patient with Chychrun and maybe even keep him.

Not only would the sens not be able to keep Chychrun with Sanderson, Chabot and Zub already signed, but Chychrun would almost certainly not want to stay either, for the exact same reason he didn't want to stay in ARI. Staying patient just means letting his value diminish, as they did with Debrincat....

No interest in a deal like that for the Canucks.
