Kotkaniemi is a very good center just not a good scorer. RBA wants guys to play center well to be center.

What does that even mean lol. Mittelstadt has taken over 230 more draws, 35% more than Kotkaniemi. Kotkaniemi has only won 2% more but has taken significantly less and Mittelstadt is playing significantly better in the defensive zone than JK. Mittelstadt is a significant upgrade in every zone over JK.

50/50 some want to sign him long term, some want to move him for pieces they need (top 4 rd) because of the depth of their prospect pool which can easily fill in the absence of Mittelstadt, for cheaper as well. Before the season I can see why they wouldn't have wanted to break up the roster, they were supposed to be a playoff team and Clifton was supposed to be their solution to the hole at 2RD
