Nope. Leafs arent giving up a first for 2 guys that dont help them at all. The Leafs are further away from contention than a back up goalie and a 4th liner. Both who are expiring. It would be faster to just throw the first round pick in the garbage and get on with the first round exit. People need to stop making the mistake of thinking the Leafs are going all in this year. They wont. They will not be spending any valuable assets on rentals. They arent good enough for it to matter.

you obviously dont know tree if you think the leafs arent going after Tanev, and a legit starting goalie.

He might. If he does, it will be for long term purposes. Not as rentals. Like these guys both are. And its an overpayment for them as rentals as well. If the Leafs want to give up a first rounder for Tanev and then immediately resign him for 2 or 3 years. I would be fine with that. Not as a rental. Same with the goalie situation. But I would be less inclined to spend assets on that. As goalies are cheap to come by, and can be found at the last min if needed. There are always a few teams, every year at the deadline who have goalies up for grabs. You wait till the year your team has proven they are a legitimate cup contender. Then you do that deal at the deadline.

well i can tell you tree never thought long term once and thats why the flames are going into a rebuild.and if i was you i would be hopeing he finds a way to get Marky and Tanev, who will resign in cgy or toronto thats not a issue.the reason i would be hopeing for that is it gives you guys a legit chance for a couple yrs.because it wont take tree long to destroy your team after that. he is a brutal short sighted GM.

Markstrom doesnt fit. He costs to much for what he adds.

ya your absolutely wrong, and have watched Marky about the same amount as i have seen Woll.your totally wrong. Markstrom is absolutely legit and really good.he was 2nd allstar and vezina finalist,he has earned every penny and is underpaid.he is in the top 8 goalies in the league.

You have no idea how much I have or haven't watched. And pretending like you do because you are upset about someone disagreeing with you shows a lot about your character as a person. Have a good day.

So you think Samsonov is equal or better then MAF?
Maroon would help in the playoffs and is only $800k
The 1st rounder includes eating 50% of MAF cap hit and taking Samsonov back
Also trading a 1st is not going all in, previous years they were more " all in " then this trade

who said im upset,im standing up for top 8 goalie in this league.i could care less if you disagree, because it tells me you havent been following him.you guys in the east are in bed when the flames play and think the world revolves around the leafs, always overrating your players.but questioning my character is a bit much.when you dont agree with someone it has nothing to do with character, too funny, and just too silly wow!! and then to end with have a good day,ha ha sounds a little passive aggressive.you leaf fans just kill me.CRAZY MIGHT SUM IT UP.

I'm saying it makes 0 difference. You could add 2 MAF and 2 Maroons and it would make 0 difference. They aren't that close to competing. You would throwing the pick in the garbage for another playoff loss and 2 guys who will then immediately walk away when the season ends. The Leafs traded more in the past. They also had more to trade. They are low on assets now. And when you are low on assets, you don't waste them away on fruitless, pointless endeavors.
