#1 bulls*** this list no Kucherov he's top 2-3. Over the last 3 seasons he's averaging 121points per 82 games. Basically 1.5 ppg

I don't think anyone takes him over Makar, Matthews or Mack though, Matthews there's an argument for on Kuch being better but not Mack and Makar

If matthews ever put up draisaitl numbers Toronto media would say he’s better than McDavid. Matthews could never put up 55G and 55A in one season so overall easily draisaitl

Matthews has been better defensively (though Drai has been great this year) and is about to put up two 60+ goal seasons, Drai is great but Matthews is the most talented goal scorer ever

I think he's 11... close to the list but just not there. I'd rather have a center like Barkov

Draisaitl is a pass first 50 goal scorer and has more 50 goal seasons than matthews also won a hart with mcdavid on his team with an Art Ross and can’t say it’s because of mcdavid injury because even before that draisaitl was out scoring him

Are goalies excluded from this list? Because if this is just a top 10 players to build a franchise around I think Vasy deserves consideration to be on that list.

Umm... i don't think so my friend

McDavid
McKinnon
Makar
Matthews
Drai
Elias
Nikita
Matthew
Barkov
Q. Hughes
J. Hughes

Tbf... I'm really biased towards the two-way center type like Barkov and Elias

For their career Vasy does deserve some consideration but not this season

Let’s be real matthews would be the best player in the league if his stats were as good as draisaitl in the last 5 years and if draisaitl was on Toronto he would be the best player in the league

You're right. It's kind of unfair to really base him off this season, becuase of injury.

Fair enough, the biggest thing between the two is that Barkov is just more experienced. Hughes is by far more talented, explosive and offensive but Barkov is just a much safer 1C to have due to his playmaking, defensive game and IQ

Take Kucherov over Mathews everyday 3RWs in NHL history have Multiple 75 assist seasons Guy LeFluer, Jaromir Jagr, Nikita Kucherov
There are 3 players in NHL history with back to back 30 points playoff seasons Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemeiux, Nikita Kucherov. Top 3 all day. He's also better defensively than people think and has a bit of a nasty streak to his game.
When you're accomplishing thing only done buy Gretzky, Lemeiux,Jagr and LeFluer says everything that needs to be said.
He also makes several million less than those guys give me Kucherov today tomorrow next week month year .

That's a fair point. My perfect kind of center is the Barkov, RBA or Aho type of center... ppg scorer or better who's way above average in his end and can be deployed in all situations so that biases me towards the Barkov types

I’d take Hughes over everyone below Matthews.

Hughes deals with a few injuries and people forget how good he’s been when healthy.

4th in the league in points/60 but he’s much more defensively responsible than Kuch and Pasta above him
