Broberg worth a lot more than a 3rd and it’s common knowledge Edmonton wants a player that can play for them right now for Broberg. And his value is going up right now with how well he’s been playing in the AHL

A brother connection doesn't boost Graeme's value up to what Kaliyev is worth.

    Kings say no.

But how about Brother connection + Kaliyev wanting out?

Still doesn't lower Kaliyev's value. Plenty of teams will be interested if the Kings entertain the thought of moving him.

If broberg gets traded it’s gonna be for a top 6 winger or ceci upgrade or maybe a 3C like Sean Monahan

    Colin Miller?

Other than that, I am not sure anyone fits those needs.

I don’t think Colin miller is an upgrade over Ceci

His minimal cost about a month ago would have been a former 1st round pick needing a change of scenery. Essentially it would have been Michael Mcleod last year before he broke out. On that front Wahlstrom out of NYI would have been a candidate.

Lately though, Broberg has been dominating the AHL playing every role, and huge minutes. Likely his cost has gone up as the Oilers are now willing to trade Kulak in the offseason and gift Broberg a permanent spot. He’s earned it.

Only way i see us making a trade for Broberg this season is part of a package that helps this years cup run in a significant way. That would be either a 4RD or a 2RW. Although both those upgrades can be had without touching Broberg.

Funny Ceci has the hardest shot at the most recent Oilers skills comp. But we aren’t after a hard shot, we already got Bouch Bombs a plenty.

What we need is someone as good as Ceci defensively (and he is good) but with more offence to his game. That’s the ideal Ceci upgrade we’d be targeting.

Essentially Marino type, from a NJ perspective. Which funny enough the Oilers drafted but couldn’t sign cause he want to be in America.

Whatever the price may be, I could see Devils GM make a play for him. We need depth dmen, especially on left side, and Fitzy has talked about his preference for long, mobile defenders. Toffoli would be a top-6 winger option if we sell into deadline, but NJD could use him for larger ask.

Interesting. Well you won’t find much longer and more mobile than Broberg. Those are essentially his two biggest positives and the reason he was drafted 7th overall. Elite skating in a plus sized package. Currently in the AHL there’s lots of talk about how his skating and reach dominates zone entries and stops them in their tracks. If you know KAndre Millers game in NYR it’s similar to that.

Sounds perfect. Clean passing out of d-zone? That’s been our biggest hole in losing Graves and Severson…and our 5v5 transition game has taken hit because of it. Bahl defends well, but the puck skills are a bit hurried and a lot of passes end up in forwards skates.

Clean and safe but puck movement is only average to my eye. There’s not much creativity in his game yet, he’s very by the numbers which is why he’s not the most dynamic or sexy pick up.

He would help transition with his mobility though. The guy can blow by guys and not look like he’s breaking a sweat. It’s really a sight to see, cause you compare him to McDavid and McDavids legs are moving at a million miles an hour whereas Broberg covers that ice with such casual and efficient strides. In Sweden he was a bit of a skating prodigy on that front.
