Oilers aren’t gonna make trades that make the team worse and mcleoud easily holds more value than Clifton so you would have to pay the oilers some assets for this trade to work

That's fair. I'm not overly familiar with McLeod I just know the Sabres have a need for depth forwards that are responsible PK bodies and the Oilers have a need for defense first RHD.
What kind of a price would you put on McLeod?

Ferraro seems like a guy that Buffalo media said was good, but is insanely mid, but all the Sabres fans fixate on him like he's going to turn the franchise around. Carter Hart is another example of this phenomenon

Mcleoud is worth a 1st or two 2nds imo. Has got better every season and during the oilers streak he’s leading the team in 5 on 5 pts with Warren foegle. He’s also mainly a C which I think is the most valuable position imo

Thanks for the laugh. That was a good one

Sorry “homer”
But he’s not getting a 1st- that’s HILARIOUS !
I can see why EDM wouldn’t wanna move him,
but NO ONE would pay that price

Handedness might not matter to you,
but it CLEARLY does to the Sabres

No other reason for them to start the season breaking up the Samuelsson-Dahlin pair that was so good the year prior

Obviously it didn’t take long for them to realize their mistake,
but it’s quite obvious they don’t find that setup “ideal”
They even talked about it before the season

It’s called having an opinion you seem very offended by that so just relax bud it’s gonna be ok and not my fault Mcleoud is getting better and better every season so yeah he definitely is worth a 1st at the current rate he’s producing at.

Answer these questions for me
has Mcleoud got better every season?
Are centres the most valuable position in the league?
Is Mcleoud worth more than his 2.1M cap hit right now?

It’s pretty fair to say Mcleoud is worth a 1st or two 2nds given he wouldn’t be rental and is only 24 years old to think otherwise would just make you delusional. Do some research before making utterly ridiculous comments like this one

The cost of a rental #3C at last year's deadline was in the neighbourhood of a second round pick: all of Domi, Eller, and Granlund fetched equivalent returns to that set price. McLeod has term, is younger, and expires with club control at the end of his current deal. Likewise, he's showing growing utility as a forechecking LW and has frequented Edmonton's second line this season.

Depending on the team in question, two second round picks may hold more intrinsic value than a late first round pick. It's absolutely not an unreasonable ask. Even if you think the idea of trading a first for McLeod is stupid, why should Edmonton take anything less than half of what Tanner Jeannot was sold to the Lightning for? The league has set precedence with these young cost-controlled RFA's.

Instead of being quick to label someone as a homer, maybe take a second to think about why they've presented an argument as they have.

It’s a ridiculous HOMER argument

When u get a 1st for him, I’ll admit i was wrong
Till then, u guys are nuts, sorry

The Oilers should not be looking to trade McLeod regardless unless it's in the sort of deal they could never refuse.

Just ignore that guy. I've put him on my ignore list. He's completely clueless and outlandish. His name alone is all you need to know he's just here to be a keyboard warrior because the rest of the people in his life are tired of listening.

I never said they should
IN FACT, what i did say was,
“I can see why EDM wouldn’t wanna move him….”

So maybe you should put away your HOMER BIAS and actually go back & read what i said
Wow

John Scott has more points in an All star game than most of the league. He's the 56th highest scoring dman in All star game history. More goals and points than Adam Fox. Dare you slander the name John Scott

Anyone that knows his game (unlike you) and wants a 3C / middle 6 wing with cost control would pay that. But it doesn’t matter, oilers wouldn’t take a 1st for him.
