Why does Stauffer always look like he's been on an all night bender? 🤔

He's such a booze bag.

How is he still employed?

I think this is an overpay for Linholm, but hypothetically speaking, I think he'd be the third line center. Current first line is one of the best in the league so far this season. Second line of Kane-Drai-Foegele has also been really good, but it was better when it was Mcleod-Drai-Foegele. I'd run:

Nuge-McDavid-Hyman
Mcleod-Drai-Foegele
Holloway-Lindholm-Kane
Janmark-Ryan-Perry

Brown
Gagner

Bourgault has barely scratched a half point per game in the AHL, is reported to have a strong two way game but is -2 on a team with a +11 goal differential and looks to be trending down in his NHLe. The Oilers have really zero prospects that would be interesting in a high end deadline deal.

In reality it's actually quite an underpay for Lindholm considering how Bourgault has not progressed as a prospect at all

Considering how lindholm hasn’t progressed since the 2021-2022 season and has actually regressed makes this a fair trade imo

If he had team control and only wanted to play for the Oilers that might be a valid argument. But he doesn't and is the #1 player on all trade boards so he will cost a decent penny, especially from Edmonton. The top 4 teams in the league are all reportedly looking for a top 6 center too

Also don't pretend like his S% has nothing to do with his current production. 6.25% for any forward with #1 powerplay time and playing 20 minutes a night is brutally unlucky. Of the ~300 players who have played 500+ minutes so far this season, Lindholm has the 12th worst shooting percentage among them.

Ok but lindholm is also still a rental that brings his value down also the unlucky numbers ur bringing up maybe unlucky but also do bring his value down still.

He's a rental for everyone, how does his value go down for Edmonton specifically? That makes no sense. Just because you can't afford his extension doesn't mean other teams can't. You have to understand that you are bidding against other teams, lowball offers don't get you the best player on the market.

lol what r u talking about? If lindholm had 3 more years left he would be a lot more valuable it’s not hard to understand lmao

What are you talking about? If Lindholm had 3 more years left at his cap hit he would get a top 15 pick a conditional 1st like Chychrun did. Your offer isn't even on the same planet as that deal.

Lindholm will get something comparable to Horvat (a rental) which this is no where close to

Exactly so you do understand his value would be a lot higher if he had more term left rather than being a rental glad we’re on the same page now

Isles 1st last year > Oilers 1st this year
Raty > Bourgault
Beauvillier < Kulak

Horvat’s return was better, although idk if Lindholm will get the return Horvat got based on the season he’s having

Losing Gaudreau and Tkachuk played a role in his "regression." 🙄

Bourgault>raty will agree to disagree I guess cause I don’t really wanna get into debate unless you want to?

Imo I’d value Raty over Bourgault because of their production since being drafted. Raty had an elite D+1 season in Finland and has had better AHL production than Bourgault. They’re pretty close in value though, but I’d slightly prefer Raty

Are you serious? Horvat was traded for 13th OA, a B+ level prospect, a 2nd line 25 year old winger. As of right now Edmonton's 1st sits at 21st OA, Kulak is a 30 year old 3rd pair defenseman, and Bourgault is a C level prospect at best

That 2nd liner ur talking about was traded for a 7th rounder also isn’t a top 6 player at best middle 6 but in reality he’s a bottom 6 player

You win this one lol but can we agree this is a similar package that Horvat returned

I've never seen Holland trade a 1st for a rental.

And honestly I think McLeod's emergence makes this trade even less likely.

It’s definitely a similar package, just slightly less than what Horvat got (which based on the seasons Horvat had and Lindholm is having may be fair, although I can see Lindholm getting a bit more)

Horvat at the time of that trade was like top 5 in goals and having a careeer year
