Description
In 2025-26, the Canadiens of Montreal has 14 players on contract. The line of center is pretty strong with 6 players that could play at center
-Nick Suzuki
-Kirby Dach
-Alex Newhook
-Owen Beck
-Filip Mesar
-Riley Kidney (if he has a good development)
Center is not a position to be worried about.
At the wing, Caufield and Roy are the only two on contract. We have a lot of RFA winger but if we can add a top 6 winger, it would be very interesting.
At defense, it's very complicated
-Kaiden Guhle
-Justin Barron
-Lane Hutson
-David Reinbacher
-Arber Xhekaj
-Logan Mailloux
-Jayden Struble
-Adam Engstrom
-Bodgan Konyushkov
-Jordan Harris
-Jonathan Kovacevic
They are all futur NHLers, unfortunately, we can't have them all. Some of them could be use on trade for having a really good attackers.

I think it's you who doesn't know what you're talking about. Byram max 25 points per year, we have Reinbacher-Hutson and Mailloux on offense, so I maintain my choice, CH has more needs for Struble than Byram

Well 1) those players play defence, not offence. 2) Byram has played more than Struble 3) he has out-produced Struble, SIGNIFICANTLY  4) This doesnt count for much but GM's value it but he's a cup champion.

By your logic Struble is max 4 points per season. Byram is the better player and how you can come to the conclusion that Struble has more value then Byram was clearly a troll comment that I was naive enough to fall for, live and learn.

Nah man, Byram has the same value as Guhle. From a Habs fan.

There is absolutely no chance I ever said that

That would be a terrible return for Z

I feel like we gotta be a bit more reasonable.

Does it make any sense for us to be trading Z right now with the need for young scoring wingers? Absolutely not

But in terms of value, assuming it’s pick #7 (which we’d know because it’s a summer ‘24 trade) and Barron isn’t completely garbage right? Admittedly I’m not super familiar with Barron, but if you take out the 2nd and Ylonen it’s not awful.

Would I want to accept it? No. But that could easily be something like Zegras for Eiserman + Barron which has to be kinda ballpark value, no?

Instead of calling me a troll and thinking you're superior, don't forget that you added a 1st and 2nd round pick as well. I tell you that CH doesn't need a defender, the bank is full. So the troll the CH needs forward, so we don't pay for a defense

The CH has Matheson-Hutson-Mailloux-Reinbacher-Barron-Guhle-Engstrom-Konyushkov-Struble-Harris-Xhekaj, all defenses that will be NHL ready, you have to be stupid to think that the CH needs a defender and give 2 good draft pick

Well, to solidify the top 4, we need a really good d-men like Byram.

I believe that Matheson-Hutson-Guhle will greatly solidify the left side of the defense, in addition to several solid left-handed defenders in our player bank, The CH must concentrate on obtaining very good forward players, in my opinion

Both trades should be easily declined by the Avs.
