Team: 2023-24 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 28, 2024
Published: Jan. 29, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
PHI
  1. Myers, Philippe
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (TBL)
  3. 2025 2nd round pick (TBL)
TBL
  1. Walker, Sean ($1,325,000 retained)
2.
3.
ANA
  1. Bonk, Oliver
  2. Myers, Philippe
  3. 2024 1st round pick (FLA)
  4. 2025 2nd round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
Losing Bonk would be a big blow, but I think Sanheim is better suited for the right side and Drysdale is obviously already going to be an important piece moving forward. With Attard Grans and Sotheran all being big guys who can maybe push for a lineup spot down the road and this draft being loaded at RHD, I think they Flyers decide to solve the bigger problem first here

Bonk's trajectory is looking too good to send him elsewhere right now IMO. If he can keep developing his offence his ceiling will be very high

TB really doesn't have the cap space once Sergachev comes back. Unless someone goes down until the end of season.
The value is fair in fact if I were Briere I'd probably want a bit more.

I agree. For the extra year of Frost at that price plus Seeler, who wouldn't be expensive to re-sign and can take JJ's spot moving forward, this is a good price. Add in them taking RyJo (whom they would probably just buyout) and I'm in. Frost isn't a long-term solution at 2C but he's a better fit than RyJo and playing with better players would help; he can bridge the gap to Ritchie, for sure.

I don't know about that tbh. I really like Bonk a ton but his projection still looks to be that of a #3D, maybe a #2D if he really continues to shine. We have nothing even somewhat resembling a future top-6 Center and with where we're likely to draft this year and in the next couple we probably won't have the chance to draft one either.

Say you move Sanheim to the right side, sign Hanafin in the offseason and at the draft walk away with Jiricek with PHI's 1st and a guy like Emery with your 2nd rounder. That gives you a top-4 of Hanafin-Drysdale/York-Sanheim with a pool of Jiricek, Andrae, Sotheran, McDonald, and Emery as a bunch of solid options to fill those last spots long term. You have to give to get in this league, losing Bonk is a blow for sure but it's always better to solve your biggest problems first

Honestly I'd pass on all 3 deals. The Walker one is close, but I think we should be able to get a 2nd or even a 1st this year for Walker. The Avs deal is a start, I could see Frost going to the avs. The biggest issue I have with that deal is Johansen, he has a negative past with Torts and his contract is huge. If it is a 3 way deal with us retaining and sending Johansen elsewhere then fine, but I doubt Torts wants him or he would want to play for Torts. As for the Zegras deal, it definitely wouldn't happen at the deadline and I'm not sure we would do it regardless.

I'd be more inclined to look at swapping Foerster out for the 1st since Philly seems deep down the right side with youth.

But yeah, I agree, Bonk would need to be included.
