Faber is going to get waaaaaay more AAV than that, count on 7-8M range. Also, you gotta fill out your roster dude - teams always carry 22 or 23 players, not just 20. No team that competes for the playoffs is going to let 10M in cap just sit around unused.

Way too light on Faber and Rossi for 8 years. Faber probably gets 7-8 years, 7M+. Rossi probably gets bridged, I'd think.

Doubt Kumps is ready, but probably a good bet that Yurov and/or Khusnutdinov are getting regular games.

I don't know how seriously to take the contracts. Rossi and Faber are getting way more, especially on 8 year deals. Kumpulainen and Ohgren probably won't be good enough to be in those lineup spots by that season. Khusnutdinov and Yurov probably will be. Matt Dumba isn't coming back and the Wild shouldn't want him back. You don't have any of the young LD (including Chisholm), Hunt is already better than Mermis. Duhaime is probably gone after this season.

I can probably give reasons on everything.

Rossi and Faber - I punched in the wrong numbers, i know both are gonna make bank after their rookie deals are up

Ohgren and Kump are both supposed to be placeholders (I should have said that) for AHL guys to test them out.

Im honestly not a fan of Chisholm, and I think the Wild have better in house solutions for the blue line.

Same thing kinda goes for Hunt. Don't get me wrong, hes really good but I think Mermis fills that needed stay-at-home defenseman role that the Wild need.

Faber is very likely to get even more than that. Jake Sanderson got $8.3Mx8, and that's Faber's closest comparable. It's incredibly likely he gets more than Sanderson too. So, let's say $8.3-8.7M on a max length contract.

Rossi, meanwhile, likely gets the JEE amount. But on a bridge deal instead of the max length contract.

I was doing some mental math on Faber's contract. If he does get 8 years in that range, I hope he gets $8.625 million for the AAV. If we're throwing around big money, might as well have fun with it and make it $69 million.

Yeah Faber is probably coming in above 8 given the Sanderson and Power extensions.

What comps are you using for Rossi - how did you come up with that number?

edit - to be clear, I'm not doubting you on the Ek number, I've just been too lazy to do the comps myself so im jw

Not comps, per say. Just listed market value.

Rossi's listed market value on his score card for the season so far by the Athletic was something like $5.4M or like that. I mean, Eriksson-Ek is making $5.25M alone. That's where that comes from.

So while not accurate by any means, it's a reference point to go off of.

Oh yeah those Athletic Market Value numbers are pretty ridiculous.

I would think Rossi's AAV is more akin to guys like Chytil, Newhook, Macelli, Kakko, Necas, etc.

5.25M feels high for Rossi with no real basis beyond just citing Ek's deal. Zegras got bridged for 3x5.75M and that was after 2 60+ point seasons.
