Caps wouldn't need to eat salary for Patches... I love the idea of reuniting him with the Hurricanes... probably would be the last piece we need

To concerned with Stromes footspeed being a problem with the Avs. To your point, yes you have absolutely addressed COLs needs properly !

idk Strome doesnt seem to have any glaring issue with his game from what ive seem. Easily Washingtons best players aside from Dowd of Lindgren ironically

The only way the Canes consider bringing patches back would be if the performance bonuses are already paid out and stay with the Caps. Can’t take the risk of a bonus overage on the Canes books next year with all of our UFA and RFAs.

Stylistically he’s very likely a mismatch. But sure he seems to do go great in WSH, good for him!

Since when is a 4C worth a 1st round pick?

Dylan Strome is a bad stylistic fit for Colorado. There are very few top 6 players that are slower than RyJo, but Strome is one. If the Avs are moving Byram, they'll want a 2C that can keep up in their system.

And Gulyayev just signed a 3 year extension in the KHL. Are you sure you want a prospect that won't touch North American ice until the spring of 2026 at the earliest.

Dowd plays 16 minutes a game? is that really 4th line minutes? hes also statically a top 10 defensive players in the league. Id say based on his cap hit + term hes worth more than your everyday "4th liner". Capitals are rebuilding / retooling so i dont see why Gulyayev KHL contract would negatively effect them

He'd be a 4C in Colorado, so what's the difference?

Btw I like Dowd and would be willing to give up a 2nd round pick and a lesser prospect for him. Gulyayev is too much.

imo i think Capitals keep him unless the price is close to or equivalent to a 1st. Rumor is that their is a lot of teams asking about him atm.

    Tarasenko at 50% retained.

Oilers will have about 2M of accrued cap space making no moves. Tank @ 50% is 2.5M which means we just send one bottom 6er down to minors.

That said, we may be interested in Mantha for a 2nd/3rd if Tank falls through.

We have some interest in a Campbell dump but not at that price. We also have some interest in Dowd and Jensen. Make us a better deal and include more pieces you want and you might get 1st++ from us.
