Since PHI might be desperate for help in the crease, could we not take advantage of that, by offering a goalie Prosvetov or Annunen as part of a package, to get M. Frost?

    Prosvetov + Byram for Frost?

Sorry. I stopped clicking on Montreal posts with the Avs because I knew it was Monahan for a first or worse. Didn't need to see it for the ten thousandth time.

From the part of the Avalanche fanbase that understands that we don’t have what you’re looking for (and that we can’t extend him anyways), we are sorry. Just filter through and move on.

Sabre fans think Casey is untouchable or unless a top pairing 23 yo RHD is part the return.
This offer is weak, but Sabre ACGM's rejected this https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/797810?post_id=4665438

Thinking Mittelstadt is untouchable is a little bit weird. I agree with you on that. The thing here is that the Avs and the Sabres are no good fit atm. COL doesn’t have the pieces you guys most likely would want in a trade involving Mittelstadt. Which probably would mean that COL would have to overpay. And sure that could have been an option if there was any resonable way of extending him, but there really isn’t. Not without making really big changes in the roster. But sure, i agree with the point you’re making.

Think we should be willing to look at what is coming back. We can always use that asset or pick to get another needed piece. If Adams isn't resigning him then a 1st and a good prospect could work. That 1st can be used for other things. Sabres can't lock themselves into 1 type of trade especially if he wants more than 7mill from the Sabres. Can't sign everyone to extension.

I agree, cap space actually matters too. I think mittelstadt is a 70 point (read as- just under point per game) center. If you told me in September that mittelstadt would be our leading scorer, I would've said "oh great, another top 10 pick next june". He's good enough that other teams should be interested, and we should be able to leverage him into a top 4 physical right shot d, even if we have to add. Frankly, mittelstadt has been our best center this year, but I'm still taking Thompson and cozens over him long term. Plus I think that because all 3 of those centers have defensive deficiencies, eventually one (cozens probably) gets moved to the wing, and you bring in a defensive center for the top 9, a guy to take d zone starts and win the occasional face off. It's nice that Thompson is tall, and when healthy he has been a big boost to the pk, but he's also been hurt at least twice this year getting in shooting lanes on the pk, that's something another center can do.

COL told PHI to add to an offer Gauthier for Byram why would COL do it for Frost? Not a chance COL does that.

It’s not that Sabres fans think he’s untouchable
We just realize that we are extremely unlikely to trade him
Mitts will most likely be signed long term,
and we aren’t looking to move him AT ALL

So for us to actually do that- in REAL LIFE- it would likely have to be for a deal we couldn’t say no to, or for a player we really need, like a top pair RD

Trading Mitts for draft picks & prospects just doesn’t make ANY SENSE at all- our prospect pool is already stacked, and we’re trying to win sooner than later at this point

Where did you hear that COL asked PHI to add to a Gauthier package??
Is this Elliotte Friedman I'm talking to?????
