As a Pens fan I'd rather give a player off our roster to help even out the cap hit and save my picks and we only really have winger prospects and you'd be competing against us so I don't think MON would be a good trade partner. I think we could do better trading out of the West as well. Vegas has 2 or 3 centers that would work and we don't have to worry about losing pieces or having a player over valued for picks, or at least i don't think as Vegas isn't going to compete. They just want prospects and picks, which is what I want to give up.

Equal value? Probably close. Does it make sense though? No.

No trades happen if they don't make sense for both teams. Look at the hall for laarson trade.. I wouldn't call that equal value but both teams got what they wanted.

Don't know if Pens can afford the cap on Shaw alone. Vegas gives up three NHLers for really no NHLers. You think the potential of Theodore is worth a first rounder and more. The he fact that you have made Shipachov and Marchsseault # 1 and 2 centres shows that Vegas isn't trading them.
