Habs. Even at 8m, PLD is still a major cap dump

Can’t see Blake admitting defeat this early on in the PLD saga or retaining at all for the next 7 years. Either seems quite unrealistic.

Fair enough! PLD clearly has a poor attitude. (I am a super outsider though). This package is less than what LA paid for him and they would need to retain so that PLD is under Caufield and Suzuki in terms of cap.

Depends what the kings think they are? Ultimate buy high and sell low in 6 months, retention probably a non starter, if it’s a reallocation of cap and contender status possibly, if it’s a tear it down and rebuild, probably going to ride it out and try to find a better spot. Cap era the savings is huge, but still a need for 1sts and team control on a rebuild. 2nd is interesting, but nothing else is much interesting

He's not a cap dump. He's having a hard time in LA. Give him a year and we'll see. I suspect he turns it around!

He’s having a very bad year and he is making already tok much for his potential. If Anderson is a cap dump than Dubois is a cap dump

Jake Allen is worth a third. Los Angeles wouldn't want a RhD or Jake Evans when they have Alex Turcotte, Blake Lizotte, Jaret Anderson-Dolan and others who can fill the bottom two center slots (that's why they could include former first-round pick Rasmus Kupari in the original DuBois deal). Check back with us in three or four seasons to see whether the DuBois acquisition was a mistake; 50 games is too small a sample to tell, and we're very patient (as our development of Quint Byfield and Alex Turcotte shows). A lot can happen in one season to affect a player's value, as every Habs fan knows -- it would never OCCUR to me to accuse even the worst Habs homer of having such a short-term memory defect that he can't remember Sean Monahan's value arc.

Unfortunate for Kings fans but Habs fans will be circling PLD like vultures for many years to come. Get used to it. And hope PLD stops being lazy and starts bringing it nightly.

I guess. I have hope that PLD will turn it around, but I don't feel that way about Anderson. But it's a fair point.

He is easily a cap dump.

His defensive metrics have always been terrible, he doesnt kill penalties, he sucks at faceoffs.

The only way he can reasonably earn his contract is through point production and the contract he has signed is the peak of that. He hasnt passed 63 points in a seaspn and career average is less than 60.

And thats before all the off ice stuff.

Hes a 4.5-5 million player making 8

He's overpaid, but he was a lot better than he's shown this year while in Winnipeg.

We have 0 interest
3 teams abandoned him
3 teams were worse for having him
3 teams improved after getting rid of him

I was all about PLD's final chance at home in MTL where he'd have to be held accountable or it would be felt at all levels including at home for him.
He wouldnt have had a choice but to show consistency, Stop the Attitude and Listen to the Locker Room Leaders. .

Reality is i feel worse about PLD then Capfriendly's Arm Chair Gm's do about Anderson
I'd rather have Anderson 10/10 as he's not someone who divides a team simply by existing like PLD has in 3 Cities so far.
I'd want Four 1st round picks just to consider taking someone like that during a Rebuild
