Same ****, different ACGM. If it doesn't include one of Slafkovsky, Reinbacher, or MTLs 24 1st it's no deal.

Christian Dvorak has little trade value in any deal, never mind a trade involving Trevor Zegras.

FYI whatever you'd want for caufield is about what Anaheim will want for zegras. He's most likely not available for fair value but a huge overpay to get him.

Slafkovsky has more value than Zegras, Anaheim would have to add. Slaf is unreadable. He is arguably better / and have a bigger value than Fantilli, Carlsson, Michkov

Don't waste good assets trading for Zegras since Ducks fans are out of their minds with their ask. Sabres fans would do Mittelstadt for Barron + the Jets 1st and he is miles better than Zegras at both ends of the ice and is a true center unlike Zegras who "can fill that role if needed".

As a Habs fan, if their 2024 1st round pick is out of the top 5, Montreal should build a offer for Zegras.

Maybe include Barron - Harris or Xhekaj and maybe a 3rd round pick.

The best trade comparaison is the DeBrincat trade to Ottawa.

It's much closer than anything I've seen on this site in weeks. I'd argue still a bit light on the grounds that Chicago was actively tearing down to the studs and Debrincat came on his final year with a $10M QO (or was it $9M, keep getting him and Meier mixed up).

Verbeek would have to desperately want the guy available at the Habs pick the way he wanted Gauthier. He got Gauthier to help scoring, and Zegras has been top 2 in points on the team the last two seasons, I find it incredibly difficult to believe he is going to be moved and re-open that hole in the top 6.

Slaf over Bedard too am I right?! lol sorry but this take is downright comical. LW 2nd year pro scoring at .36pts/g over his career vs 2 centers in their first year scoring at .55 and .61 for Fantilli and Leo. Keep drinking whatever kool-aid they’re serving in MTL, it must be potent 😂

MONT just easier to buyout armia, AZ is not taking on crap contracts anymore and keep your third.

Pure homer bias.

On what basis do you think that Slafkovsky has shown the POSSIBILITY of being better than Fantilli or Carlsson? Each has played significantly fewer NHL games than Slafkovsky and outperformed him so far:

Slafkovsky: 89 games, 32 points, -28
Fantilli: 49 games, 27 points, -21
Carlsson: 31 games, 19 points, -6

Sure, Slafkovsky COULD turn out better eventually, or he could turn out worse, but no unbiased observer thinks that he has "greater value than Fantilli [or] Carlsson," especially since both of the latter are centers.

Here are some interesting stats to compare:

Mason McTavish: first 89 games, 46 points, -16
Kent Johnson: first 89 games, 43 points, -17
Slafkovsky: first 89 games, 32 points, -28

Trevor Zegras: first 99 games, 74 points, -15
Matty Beniers: first 90 games, 66 points, +13
Adam Fantilli: first 49 games, 27 points, -21
Logan Cooley: first 48 games, 25 points, -10

No, Juraj Slafkovsky doesn't have greater value than any of these youngsters RIGHT NOW.
