Nylander certainly won't be as good as his brother, but I do think he's still going to be good. Also, no way does Toronto not match that deal for Brown. That's dirt cheap, and they do have the cap space

Not sure why the Sabres would trade Ullmark.

I THINK WE NEED TO SIT DOWN AND EVALUATE YOUR TIME AS GM ON A MORE PERSONAL LEVEL. NYLANDER IS UNTRADEABLE

Day 1 of the season the Leafs will have to do the waiver dance where they are momentarily cap compliant without LTIR. The closer to the cap the Leafs are with $7.9 million LTIR relief, the more guys they have to send down. Then they have to recall players from the AHL, which means clearing re-entry waivers where teams can claim players like Brown for free. COL finished last so they have first priority and will suck up any garbage D you send down like Zaitsev.

I think the Leafs WOULD match on Brown if there was an offer-sheet, but I also don't see how they get out of trouble smoothly. Especially if they are lucky enough to sign a RHD UFA D. Every once in a while a team completely screws up on some technical rule they didn't understand. Just maybe the Leafs didn't know what they were doing when they signed Marleau.

I think Nylander will be fine, he had a decent pro season at 18 after coming over from europe. He might take some time but he wont be disappointing
