Just keep VO. Columbus doesn't have roster room for Roslovic now, let alone taking on another wing. The third for him unretained is fine.

CBJ can take 3rd from Buffalo, retain half of already retained half and send VO at 1 mil cap hit for more picks. I know it's even less cap hit, but stil.

Was about to say, I take this all day. Unlike a lot of the “I’m just adding him so you can flip him,” trading VO feels like an easy lift, particularly if he’s going with such a small cap hit. Could even see this as already being done as a three-way trade.

Sorry, but you locked yourself to that EJ deal and the Avs aren't about to bail you out of it...unless you take RyJo in return.

Locked into what? It's a one-year deal, and the rumor djour is EJ back to the Avs.

Rumor from where? You locked yourself to a $3M contract, an overpay for that guy. Avs barely have $1.5M available in cap rn, and we're not using on EJ. At least, not now. Wait until we get a 2C then we'll see.

Easy no for the Avs. EJ might go back to the Avs at the TDL but it would likely be 50% retained and definitely not for a 3rd.

Seconding this. Honestly, if Columbus is just looking to maximize assets, retain half on Rolsovic, take another mid- or late-round pick to do so, then retain an additional half on VO when he's inevitably flipped.

I like the idea of doing this as a 3-way trade though more. That gives us the most potential to land a higher-quality asset over a few middle-quality assets.
