Boston gets some more cap flexibility to add whoever they're after, and we'd get an upgrade of Forbort over DeHaan. It's not bad though I wonder if they'd consider that.

Value is whatever I guess, but it boils down to why. He is a 1b AHL goalie mentoring a goalie who can hopefully be our NHL backup one day. I would rather just keep than get a conditional 7th.

If Boston is goin to make any moves at the deadline they need to move cap. Who on the team makes over 2m that they can move and it does not hurt them? Forbort is about it. He’s a 6/7 d man making 3m. Replacing him with a 6/7 d man with similar skill set at league minimum is a win. 4ths amount to nothing most of the time. I’d be happy to move him for future considerations. Not many teams can take his full cap hit.

Unless they have plans of a trade that the other team takes him for cap purposes, this would open some much needed cap space.
