You've given up too much for in effect one year of Saros. Like to see how the cap works next season and Power and Dahlin get an increase of 11m between the two of them

1. Can't see WPG interested in that and I'm not very interested in either piece coming out way.

2. Goalies are voodoo. Hate that trade.

3. I'm sure we can get a better pick back by retaining 50%.

There's no incentive for Winnipeg to do that at or before the TDL.

Id do that for the jets if Olofsson wasnt having such a bad year in the goal scoring department

The jets should accept instantly. Offloading Stanley is already a win, then we save cap and get a potential middle 6er in Rosen. Huge win for the Jets.

What is it? The value. Or just that it is Mitts in the deal.

BOTH

1- we are pretty unlikely to trade Mitts

2- even more unlikely to move him for a goalie, especially not for one who likely demands a big contract after next season-
the 1st year of which starts when he’s 30 years old. That just isn’t a guy we’d wanna sign to the long term deal he’d demand anyways

3- is Saros even better than UPL moving forward?
UPL has been playing quite well & has a better save% than him this season- .910 to .903
Saros is clearly having a down season- is it a fluke that he bounces back from? Or the start of his decline?

It’s just WAY too risky to sign Saros long term
And that’s just WAY too much to give up for someone who is that risky to keep around for more than the 1 year he has left on his deal

Now, if Saros were to come SIGNIFICANTLY CHEAPER,
then an argument can be made that he’s worth the risk

Maybe something more like a prospect or Krebs & a pick instead of Mitts & UPL would make A LOT more sense for us ?
Would that work for the Preds though?
Obviously i have no clue

But i just don’t think we could risk overpaying to take on such a risk- not to mention the increased Cap Space Saros takes up

Since we’re pretty much out of the playoffs for this season,
my offer for ONE year of Saros would be something more like:
Krebs + a 2nd

Maybe I’d include a conditional pick as well,
say a 4th that turns into a 3rd if we make the playoffs & Saros starts over 55 games?
Something like that anyways
Can’t go higher than that though
Considering the down season Saros is having, that’s probably an overpay already
