Isles would probably take that deal value wise, but we’re just as strong down the middle as you guys. We should be moving Pageau anyways this off-season tho so maybe it’d work out. How much do you think Middlestadt will get paid in.
the off-season?

Sabres aren’t trading Mitts

Sportsnet: On Friday’s “32 Thoughts” podcast, Elliotte Friedman talked about Mittelstadt’s contract situation. He believes Mittelstadt would not be happy not to get a lucrative new contract when several other teammates did. “If you’re not going to pay him, you almost have to move him.”

Islanders trade helps the Islanders, but does nothing for Buffalo. Edmonton trade makes no sense, and I'm sure Terry P doesn't want to keep pis$ing away money on AHLers with NHL contracts, insane you have him as the Sabres starter

That's a fair point, but I haven't heard any indication that the Sabres weren't going to pay him. I'd rather flip him for much needed help on defense- right shot, defense first, physical, middle pair, add if necessary to get the right guy. Mittelstadt represents a good player that could be moved for help, and since the Sabres last 5 first round picks were used on forwards, there should be some elc players coming to help replace him. The Sabres aren't in a cap crunch, it's not like they can't afford to give him 7 per. Of course the Sabres are in no position to move him for futures, to me it's a no brainer- trade him for something specific to help immediately, or sign him. I'm not buying what Friedman is selling here, it makes it sound like the Sabres are desperate to get anything back, so they don't have to sign him, which I'm not buying.

According to Andrew Peters the Sabres are shopping Mitts hard....that was reported on Spectors Hockey. Peters didn't say who his source was but said Adams is looking for a goalie bc supposedly they don't trust the 3 we have.

Neither the Isles trade or Edm trade help Buffalo in the slightest.

The Isles trade is literally 3 busts and a 1st for Mitts which is an easy decline.

The Oilers trade is just us taking a 4 year cap dump for another 1st.

We need to get better in the immediate not after another 3 to 5 years

Oh wow, thank you. I think Friedman said the Sabres are interested in Gibson. I hope the Sabres being interested in Gibson and mittelstadt possibly being shopped are two unrelated ideas, adams is starting to worry me.

They are separate interests....not Mitts for a goalie.
LOL Adams has worried me for a while.
Don't want another Tim Murray but try and improve the team off last season which Clifton and Johnson weren't enough.
When 21 and 28 were brought back I figured they were gonna be in trouble.
Team is to soft.

I missed the game today, just caught the post-game. A lot of "Sabres forwards aren't going to the net". We are too soft.

Yepp, no one is willing to screen the goalie either. Makes the opposing goalie have an easy time seeing the puck. This staff needs to go and we bring in a tougher coach. Just my opinion.
Wash, rinse and repeat from the Dallas game.

Yeah, i know
It’s Peters making up stuff again, just like he did with the supposed Pat Kane signing
He doesn’t have inside info at all (apparently)

For a career certainly not but for the present he's mediocre at best. with a 5min contract at 33
