Created by: Dylan1995

Initial Creation Date: Jul. 13, 2017
Published: Jul. 13, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
TBL trade - nurse is a good rough d man who can skate well and use the puck well. He would complete the top 4 for TBL with it going
Hedman - stralman
Nurse -Sergachev
Taylor raddysh is a very good right wing but has no NHL experince we play him for 10 games see how he does if not play him in the ahl and call up Scherbak I can add more to the trade just need your opinion if it's good or not
Also I brought maroon back at a 2 year 3 million a year deal if he wants more let him walk gotta remember McDavid was playing with him but I do believe he deserve a bit of a raise!

Same with letestu he will get a bit of a raise at a one year deal to try and win him the cup bedore be either retires or picks a new team

Bring Ethan bear up and pair him with sekera just as we did with benning. Let sekera ease bear in and also give bear some power play time to see how he does

The Oilers do not have the depth at defense to afford trading away a player like Nurse. I understand cap room will need to be made, at some point, in the very near future, but you are trading away an NHL defenseman, at least top-4 potential, for a middle-of-the-pack offensive prospect, in Taylor Raddysh, who has plenty of shortfalls to his game and will require at least a season or 2 at the AHL level. Basically, you are underselling Nurse. If you are insisting a deal with the Lightning be made, I'd ask for Raddysh and one of Dotchin or Koekkoek to at least restock the Oilers defensive cupboard.

Good points. So you think a nurse for raddysh and dotchin is a fair deal?

I think that if you posted this during the day time when a lot more Oilers fans are up and about, you'd get some of them lashing out at your trade proposal for even considering touching one of their young defenseman. However, while I route and cheer for the Oilers, as they are not in the same conference as the Leafs, and are an exciting young team, like Toronto, I think I can offer you my unbiased opinion. Although Steve Yzerman may fight you on such a deal, truth is the core of D he presently has is blocking some of their prospects from an NHL roster spot. My basis is the recent Travis Hamonic trade. If a top pairing (arguably) defenseman gets you a 1st and 2 2nds, then a young controllable top-4 would get probably fetch you Brett Howden or Taylor Raddysh, Jake Dotchin or Slater Koekkoek and maybe a 2nd draft pick in the uber-deep 2018 draft. Alternatively, and I know a lot of Lighting may fuss over this, you may be able to pull off a 1-for-1 hockey deal and trade Nurse for Brayden Point, a far better return, I'd think, then Taylor Raddysh.

I would love to have Brayden point. Very good player. I know he's listed as a centre but does he play wing?

Yes, I believe Brayden Point has at least some experience playing the wing, but he'd be a much better all-around option at center over Ryan Strome, who I think would excel far more as a winger. In years past, I wouldn't have given it much of a thought, a Nurse-for-Point deal being reasonable and/or fair, but considering what the Oilers pulled off with Larsson-Hall and the price of defenseman these days, especially young, controllable defenseman with top-4 potential, I think it's a lot more fair and reasonable then some fans may think. Either way, this may be moot, as I honestly don't see either team parting with pieces of their future core.

Fair enough my man. I don't think it happens either but if it came down to it a nurse for point trade would be alright! Have a good night dude

Based on these comments, if nurse is so good, then why did the oilers sign Russell for 4 years to be their number 4 D? Tampa isn't desperate to make a move for a D now, so they wouldn't trade Point, especially since he will be one of their most cost effective players in the next 2 years. Adding dotchin to the raddysh for nurse deal wouldn't work either imo, although nurse is an upgrade from dotchin, the Lightning seem to really like dotchin and wouldn't want to trade him, unless for a proven D.

Yeah, PC really did screw that up. Kinda like the Reinhart trade, or the lucic contract, or the sekera contract, or the eberle trade, oh and the hall trade. Why is he GM again?

If I were Habs GM, I think I wouldn't accept a trade that gives away both Gallagher AND Scherbak, being our best true RW and our best (and only noteworthy) upcoming RW, making us completely bare.
In terms of fair value, I think the trade is actually quite close (I might push for a 2nd round pick instead of a 3rd, but otherwise fair), but not exactly on point in need.

Now if you wanted Gallagher, Scherbak, and say maybe De la Rose (+ a pick?) for RNH and Strome, then we're talking. Or again, we could go with the conservative Gallagher + pick for RNH, but we've gone over this a bunch of times lol.
