Nope I think that's you my friend. Yes there's nearly 20 mil there (if we don't include any of the RFAs current contracts). Mittelstadt will take up probably 7 mil. UPL another 2 at least. Krebs 1+. Jokijarhu 3+ leaving around about 6-7 mil at best to fill out 5 more spots plus 3 scratches. Yes the maths can be made to work but the D corps has been weakened significantly and it's arguable as to whether the forwards are as good. You've subtracted Wood (and also Drouin because you won't be able to re-sign him) plus RyJo (who, whilst his value is negligible as he's not been a good fit, is still a piece gone) for the addition of Mittelstadt and Krebs (roughly break even), but you've subtracted Girard & Manson for the addition of Jokijarhu (massive net loss to the D corps). The addition of a back up G does not make up for that when there are easier ways to add one. Overall you've just decimated the Avs and made them worse. All to satisfy the Sabres desire to add a 1G, a face off winning 3C and a physical RD.....I mean that's what Sabres fans are all saying they need on here, so it really benefits the Sabres doesn't it? That's before we start on whether or not the Flames accept the first trade.

Jokiharju isn't going to make 3+ so you have 8 mill to fill out depth positions. Not to mention your spending 11 mill on RyJo, Manson and Wood next year anyway, to which Mittelstadt, UPL, Jokiharju, and Krebs are a clear upgrade for the same money Ryjo and Drouin do not break even with Mittelstadt and Krebs

In other places (reddits and so on) the combined total of signing those 4 guys is projected at 14 mil by Sabres fans but who can tell who is closer. I came down somewhere in the middle. You're being overly optimistic. So either way it's bad and you're cherry picking to try to argue a losing point while omitting parts of what I've said. Those 4 are not a clear upgrade over Manson, Girard, RyJo, Wood and Drouin which is what is going out in your trades above (plus a prospect and a first). Krebs is a kid (who I personally like) who is still finding his way. Maybe he makes it, maybe not. In the right deal I'd give him a chance. UPL would be an expensive back up option, the like of which the Avs can't and won't entertain. They won't even pay a starter hefty money. Mitts may or may not be capable of being a regular 2C, I'd say the jury is out. Jokijarhu isn't anything special from what I've seen. Krebs is really the only one I'd have any interest for the Avs simply through cost and he'd probably be low risk/high reward if all worked out.

Colorado is clearly better immediately, and down the road a slight decrease in scoring from the d for a major upgrade in the top 6 plus a legit #1 as your backup goalie for fairly cheap at 2 mill, and if Krebs is a dark horse you have a significant upgrade on the 3rd line, leaving enough money for all of the depth pieces, an elc, and a bit of money to splash at a decent ufa dman, I know because I made a test one

I already did the same and like I said you can make the maths work if you're unrealistic but you're simply wrong on the upgrade. There is no hyperbole from my side, that is only coming from you, and nobody is forcing you to defend it. You simply put delusional because you knew it was going to be taken as a bad idea (which it is) and didn't actually want it to be so now you actually want to defend it because you know it only works for the Sabres.
