Caps are looking for a 1st or high pick, this isn't in the ballpark for them

Kings need someone who will make them better this year, you are off here as well.

Campbell dump is worth 2 -1sts and a nice prospect like Broberg, which means your offer for Saros is 2nd + 4th + Lavoie + Bourgault. To me I think they can likely get more than that.

A fourth liner, and a AHL forward is not near enough for Arthur Kailiyev imo. Don’t see why the Kings trade him anyway, especially within division. Not near enough for Saros too! Basically, those firsts are to dump Campbell, so it is Broberg, Bourgault, Lavoie, 2nd, 4th for Saros. Not enough. I’ve been trying to defend Bourgault as much as I can, but he’s not helping me out with his production haha.

I agree with almost all of this, however, if Washington is actually looking for a 1st for a 4c, I hope they like disappointment.

Dowd is an elite defensive center that's making peanuts. It's already been reported that he's getting a 1st. Caps won't be disappointed.

Sure he is, but no way a team gives a first. If they do, that would be a mistake. You can get far better players for that. So yes, I do believe they will be disappointed. Just don’t see it happening.

I guarantee the Caps would have at least 6 better offers than that

What teams are looking for and what they get can differ. I think a 2nd and a good prospect isn't out of the realm of possibilities. Dowd is only a minute or two behind on ATOI behind Strome (1C), and leads the team in plus/minus, physical, and a big part of their PK. Center depth on playoff-caliber teams is an issue.

I don't know why you included Statsney to not even put him in the lineup. Nash definitely wouldn't part with him as he's NHL ready and only playing in the AHL to get more minutes.

Take out Statsney and the seventh and its still nowhere near enough for Saros purely because Campbell is coming the other way and he's a buyout waiting to happen. Bourgault is a nice prospect but not the caliber that Trotz is rumored to be targeting in a Saros trade. I just don't see a fit as trade partners for Saros

Way too much for Saros. The max Oilers will or should pay is a 1st and 3rd to dump Campbell, otherwise the buyout makes more sense.

So you’re paying 1st, Broberg, XB, Lavoie essentially for Saros who may not even be better than Skinner at this point.

Bad trade, oilers wouldn’t touch that.

Ask Tampa if they regret trading a 1st for Goodrow, who went on to be on their best line in 2 straight Cups. Points aren't the only thing that matters. If a team is set at offense and want an elite defensive guy making nothing for 2 seasons, they'll give up a 1st.

That’s Tampa though. As you know, they like to throw first round picks like they are nothing. Gave a bunch for Hagel, Coleman, and Jeannot. Doesn’t mean they will get a first from any other contending team. He is good, but not worth it imo, and I really hope Edmonton would not be the team to pay that. It was nice talking to you about it! Have a great day.

Yeah last team that gave a 1st for "4th liner" was Tampa and they went back 2 back. HUGE MISTAKE

I believe it would be, especially for Edmonton. We could use that 1st rounder for a better upgrade in an area of need. Also, Tampa likes to throw 1st around, so it’s hard to use them to determine value, and what you are gonna get for a player. That’s on Tampa, and clearly it worked… doesn’t mean it would for other teams.

Dowd leads the league in defensive zone starts and is among the 10 best defensive forwards in the NHL. Oilers need a shutdown line more than another 50 point player. imo

Possibly, but it would be better if we used it for a defensive upgrade. I like Ceci, but he won’t cut it if we are trying to win the cup imo. Dowd is good, I’m not denying that, but there are other guys that are good enough that we could get for cheaper if that’s the price.

Then do Dowd 50% for a 1st
Ceci + 3rd for Jensen 50%

That low for Jensen? I like the idea of him 50% retained, and it would make it better in my eyes if we got him with Dowd, instead of just Dowd if we are giving that first.

yep you get Jensen for 1.5 x 3 and Dowd @ 650k x 2years for a 1st + 3rd and dump Ceci full cap
