this gave me a chuckle. every day i log onto this site and i forget how much you poster boy your own prospects.

here's this KHL defenceman that has never played an NHL game but is suddenly the best player since gretzky

Yet, he's rewriting record books. Perhaps your ignorance is what is limiting your understanding of this sport, and not other people!

A lot of people are high on Hutson. These guys have him much higher than anyone of CAR's propsects:

Ahh, so you do it just to please yourself? That makes a lot of sense. Suddenly, your entire demeanor seems to suit you

Yeah, Nikishin is "breaking records" on one of the most stacked and rigged KHL teams of the past decade.

I can't wait for him to come to the NHL, post one 30 point season, and fall into mediocrity lmao

These trades are way in the past... like the most recent one you mentioned... Schneider happened in 2013 and the market has just changed a lot... like goalies aren't getting $10m contracts any more and they don't have the same trade value that they used to have

You're the one who said it never happens, not me. As I stated already, goalies of Saros' caliber just get traded so rarely, it's difficult to find a lot of comparables.

Hudson is a very good prospect but he's not as much of a sure bet as Nikishin is

I think Hutson's a surer bet to sign an NHL contract. I imagine the if/when of Nikishin coming to NA would be a concern to other GMs, if CAR was entertaining the idea of trading him.

Hey now, Nikishin still has an outside chance of breaking a record held by a then 36 yr old Chris Lee. Even if he doesn't break it, he's still in the illustrious company of other all-time greats like Kevin Dallman and Darren Deitz sarcasm

It's difficult to find a lot of comparables... I agree but I have a really hard time seeing the Hurricanes giving up core roster pieces to trade for a goalie, A futures-based package I could see but probably not a top-6 or top-4 guy

If NSH does trade Saros, I'd have to imagine they'd be looking for a mainly futures based return. Nikishin would obviously be of interest to them. I don't see them hungering for Necas, when RW looks to be their strongest position in the coming years (Evangelista, Tomasino, Kemell, Fink, Kiiskinen, Wood - if he doesn't convert to center as a pro).
