Brock Nelson is one of the most underrated players in the NHL.

I think I'd have to say yes.

Last thing Los Angeles needs is another center who would play 4th line for them at $3.75M.

Why would Buffalo give up a younger player entering their prime and pick?

And what is Mitts? Brock is a 34 year old UFA at the end of next season.

We are the youngest team in the league and have waves of young forwards coming.

If we aren't going to sign mittelstadt long term, this makes sense.

I'm not convinced, especially if we aren't going to sign him

We currently have 1 player who will be older than 29 on next year's team

What about one of the Isles right shot d, what are the costs? That's basically what we need.

He isn't a ufa for another two seasons. Even if he goes to arbitration, he's still signed longer.

Montreal is the only trade that has a chance to be accepted.

Ok, should we just be the youngest team in the NHL forever? Nelson is better and he can be extended if we want. I understand saying no, but it's a good trade

Then you trade him for a defenseman of similar age.

It's not. Mitts has at the very least, the same value as Nelson. It's not like he's 20 years old and going to take time to reach his top level. He's already pretty much there and is one of the best forwards on the Sabres. Plus he's good for the locker room and team.

Think the Canes should pursue him, idk if he’s what the Sabres need rn.

Los Angeles wouldn't pick Pageau up off waivers even if they had the cap space, which they don't.
