Trade with TOR

Description
There has been talk that the Flames and leafs are talking trade. The leafs are likely looking to trade either Bozak or JVR, of the two I'm sure JVR would be Calgary's target. It might not be the cleanest move to trade Stone after just signing him, but Toronto needs a defenseman and Stone would slot in their top-4. JVR could play on the top line, or slide in with Bennett and Versteeg to give CGY 3 solid lines. McDonald could be switched out for one of CGY's many defensive prospects. It would be smart for CGY to deal one or two of them as there's going to be very little opportunity for them over the next 3 years. A guy like Kylington who has decent upside but has a few more holes in his game would be a good candidate.

Shouldn't the primary concern be finding a good winger to play with Johnny and Monny? I know Ferland was clicking with them at the end, but is he really the long term solution?

Not enough for JVR if you ask me.

If you consider that he only has one year left and there's virtually no way that Toronto can resign him next season with new contracts on the way for Matthews, Marner and Nylander, I think the value is pretty close. I agree McDonald would be the low end of what Calgary can offer but one swapping him with a Rasmus Andersson or Oliver Kylington might just get the deal done.

Monahan and Gaudreau are going to score regardless, and Ferland was the best winger they had last season. I'd rather try to get Bennett going. If Bennett can get a kick from playing with two really good offensive players in JVR and Versteeg and elevate his game to the level of a solid #2 Centre, CGY would have three very capable scoring lines.

Tre won't do the deal if he thinks that he can't sign him long term cause it's too much for a one year rental, and with Backlund coming up for some big money and 8 holes in the team. he would need to do the same money or less and I can't see that happening. But I like the process
